Reviews for Dreams of Fire
Amokiity chapter 1 . 1/9/2005
Wow. How often do we get to see the sultry, steamy side of Peter and Kitty? You did good, balancing the tender emotional side with a carnal, and passionate one. Smut, you say? Heh, heh, no I don't think so. A well written Erotica piece? Yes. And there's not many of THEM out there, is there?

I loved the dialogue. Nikolai/Peter's warning of Kitty playing with dragon's fire and her witty response "I'm used to that", made me smile. Kitty's remark about "It has been so long", really rang true. After all these years don't these two deserve a little happiness? Upon seeing the cover to Astonishing #6, I suspect I'm not the only one who thinks so. It's just breathtakingly beautiful.

Peter removing Kitty's power inhibiting collar implied trust, and even though it was a dream, (or, was it?) I think it might have implications later on when things build to a head.

I'm glad you've written this. It shows that you can have a clever, racy, Adult story without comprimising plot or character quality. I've certainly never minded Adult themed stories, but like ALL stories, as a reader I'd like to see them written with some thoughtfulness and care. Obviously, you think so too. Nice work.
Dark-bat chapter 1 . 11/16/2004
Hee hee.

Oh man... I really enjoyed this story. I like reading all of your stories (and I'm sorry for not reviewing. I'm so irresponsible and lazy), and this one was the erotic icing on a delictable cake. And this is definately going on my Favorite Stories list.

And this sex is tasteful and romantic, not pornographic. LIke... a sex scene in some really good movie. Not a Jenna Jameson film.

I do wish I had dreams like that. But any my dreams remotely erotic always envolve me being Mel Gibson. Which really really freaks me out. Either that... or in a movie theater with sticky floors. ew.

But MAD Kudos. Great great great magnificent and delicious kudos. THe M&M kind, w hich are the best.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a little smut every once in a while. I loved this side-story, it even had me blushing a little (which isn't an easy thing to do).

I think the way you approached it, as a dream-sequence, was clever too. Kitty recalling Emma's comment probably had just as much to do with the fact that she was unsure if sleeping with Peter would break Koschei's grip, as much as she probably saw that as a tactic Emma herself would use.

The only thing I have to add is, if and when, Kitty and Peter actually do the deed, I'd hate to be an X-Man within a mile of them. All of that pent-up sexual tension finally being released would probably match the intensity of a moderately-sized explosive going off any day.

Anyways, keep up the good work...
Lia Fail chapter 1 . 11/10/2004
Excellent work, Jeremy. If you're a pervert for writing it, them I'm just as much of one for enjoying reading it. After all, smutty stories are always the most fun ;)

Your writing was beautiful, as always; very tasteful and sensual. Even with Kitty and Nikolai's lust, it was easy to see the love and tenderness they had for each other and a maturity in their actions that we never got to see in their original relationship.

I enjoyed the irony of it being Peter's first time instead of Kitty's, it was a fresh twist on things. The ending was a great setup for what you hinted would happen in your next chapter. Great job on this story! I look forward to the next one. I'll write you tonight. Take care.
Kirayoshi chapter 1 . 11/10/2004
Hey, Jeremy, could I borrow this story for the weekend? I'm planning on grilling some steaks!

I kid.

Seriously, I enjoy a little heat as well as the next redblooded heterosexual American male, but not at the expense of character or plotline, and definitely not if sex is the raison d'ete of the story. Which is why I enjoyed your latest story immensely.

Kitty's frustrations at being in the same room as the man she loves yet worlds away at the same time are perfectly understandable, and likely to materialize in dreams. Although the fact that she and 'Nicholai' are having the same dream is also intriguing. You know Korshei's gonna try and nip that in the bud a.s.a.p., isn't he?

One question; you mentioned Baba Yaga, a witch from Russian folklore, in an earlier chapter. Does Korshei have any ties to her and will she figure in the story at some point? Just curious.

Oh, and thanks for the feedback on "Giri" and "The Goblin Wars". Although I do have to ask you; [knowing diabolical voice]why do you automatically assume that Harry Osborn is automatically the enemy? [/knowing diabolical voice]
B chapter 1 . 11/10/2004
My...is it warm in here? Heh. Great story...I was actually wondering if the plot might go this way...vaguely remember a russian fairytale where the kidnapped princess regains her memory when her prince manages to kiss her three times. Glad this isn't the end of the story, cause hey: more story!

And to echo Kitty Rasputin's review...do you think Valley Kit characterization is more due to the Evolution cartoon, bleedover from Jubilee, or the kiotr running joke in the comics 'For certain' 'that's fer shure, dunce.'?
Kitty Rasputin chapter 1 . 11/9/2004
Of course it was very tasteful. I have to admit that I enjoy smut every now and then, too. Somehow, I doubt that it was just a dream since they both shared it. Maybe a vision from Koschei, although I highly doubt it. Then again, who knows how your malevolent mind works.

Boondocks of Massachusettes? You've got to be kidding me. Now, if you lived in a place like Ohio I could possibly see that. But Massachusettes? Okay, maybe.

I finally attempted to register so maybe you'll see some of my work soon. It might not be as descriptive as "Deathless" or "Paper Flowers", but I think you'll like it. Also, I have two questions I've been meaning to ask you.

#1-Don't you just hate the stories that have Kitty saying words "like" and "whatever" every two seconds? Where do people come up with this? She's from Illinois, not the Valley.

#2-Did you see the cover for Astonishing 6? That was so gorgeous. I must have read the story five times by now (I have two copies), but I just love staring at the cover.

Anyway, this is the longest review I've ever written. I hope you appreciate it as much as I appreciate you staying updated. ;)
