| AryYuna chapter 11 . 7/27/2012
This was the first of your fanfictions that I've read, and is one of the most beautiful stories ever. Just like you, I really love Bling, and the story you wrote about him looks perfect to me. I also love the way you portrayed the painful first months after Logan's injury, his struggle to take back his life, and the way Max keeps coming to check on him, too see how he is doing. It's wonderful.
Thank you very much for writing it, for sharing it with us
| Long Live BRUCAS chapter 11 . 10/11/2011
Love the friendship Logan and Bling had. Wish he could of stayed in S2.
He was just what Logan needed. He wasn't to pushy or demanding. He know just when to push and ask questions. He was able to keep it a secert until the end that Max had asked about him.
| Mari83 chapter 5 . 3/5/2007
Just reading this story for the I don’t know how many time (you and your stat page should know better:-) and am obsessed enough to comment on one of my (many) favourites:
“...damn it...” He whispered finally, the picture of pain, head tipped back and eyes tightly shut, refusing to let them fill... “Damn it...” he breathed again, head now falling forward and eyes opening to stare, glassy eyed, and the tiny, fuzzy bear he held in his open palm. And finally, slowly, his hand closed over the small round figure..."
I can perfectly picture this, the ‘not really crying but almost’ is exactly how I imagine Logan to show emotions when he finally can’t hide them anymore or in this case can’t stay any longer in withdrawal / shut down state. At least to me this more subtle way of making visible Logan’s feelings conveys the painfulness even better than him having a complete break-down.

Tank for this great one too.
I'm also a deep fan of Bling, and I tink it's the most valuable to express all king of emotions.
Something new happenning now, it's probably my 18 or 20 stories from the fanfiction, and I catch a brain new phobia...
The phobia to dont't see the little "" caracters annoucing the next chapter.
I try to read fast, cause i'm passionate by the events, but when comes the last chapter (without this "" at the end) showing me that it will be over soon, I felt, each time, a little heart failure!
Anyway, it's not like if I can't read all again (and again and again) when I'll finish to read all the stock. (I presently read "Winter's Chill" 4 times, at the first wake up of Logan when Max si out to find strawsberry, I almost cry each times).
I'm 39 years old, and I really don't know where you could find this unbelivable inspiration, never lost it please.
Did i told you "tank you to be there and so good" ?
(still excuse my english please, i suppose to be just french...)

Thank you for this! Been spurred on to re-visit DA fanfic again now that the show is on SciFi channel. Seeing season 1 has reminded me how great the show was (before it became the freak-of-the-week, no-emotion second season) AND what a great character Bling is. Delighted to find him so well fleshed out. I love the backstory that you've created for him. I'm hoping that you'll consider writing a story or two about the Bling & Peter days, or the days with Grandma. Hell, please write more Bling stories! I'm really enjoying your work. Thanks for sharing.

That was beautiful. Especially the last line.

First let me say that your writing style is very mature and intelligent. Due to a very busy 'real world' life I haven't read a fanfic in almost a year, but you got me tonight. The topic, Bling, was the hook, but the smooth flow of the writing kept me reading. I knew right away that this would be a story with depth of character and excellent style. I stayed up way too late to read the whole thing in one shot and leave now with a great feeling of satisfaction.
Your story is one of the best examples of what I love about fanfic. Fanfic is a wonderful opportunity to take intriguing parts of a show and flesh them out in a way that TV can never do.
You did a wonderful job with both Peter and Bling giving them realistic lives that tied in beautifully with their roles in the show. Your description of Bling's experiences makes the seemingly incongruent combination of therapist and bodyguard that embodies Bling seem perfectly understandable. I loved Bling's granny and the fundamental goodness she imparted to him. It was also a brilliant idea to introduce a connection between Peter and Bling and to establish Bling's preexisting association with Eyes Only.
You have also taken the 'missing three months' and filled them in in a very believable and satisfying way. You have given us great answers to the questions 'What happed to Logan during that time? Where was Max? and 'How did Logan and Bling hook up?
I especially liked the evolution of Bling's committment from just doing a job for 'eyes only' to taking over an important duty from his dead friend to finally developing his own personal dedication to Logan.
Although the story was mostly from Bling's perspective your use of Logan's, Max's and Matt's perspectives also worked well.
I appreciated Logan's growing trust and reliance on Bling which culminates in the powerful relationship that was hinted at on the show.
You did a wonderful job with Max and her compulsion to watch over Logan. Great job placing her in the air ducts for covert surveillance. Of course she is the only that sees Logan's deepest pain when he breaks down for a moment as he prepares to leave the hospital. Moments like these help us understand her empathy for Logan.
Your explanation of how Bast made her way back to Logan was very unique and true to Max's character.
Only one criticism. The recap of Max and Logan's conversation at the end of the Pilot with their thoughts added wasn't really necessary. This format is used alot in fanfic and can be somewhat routine. It would be a more unique perspective to hear Bling's thoughts as he listened to their conversation.
Great ending with Bling out in the starry night. Loved the humor, sprituality and sentimentality in the last line. It's perfectly true to Bling's perspective.
Thanks for a very enjoyable story.

Nicely done. You managed to harmonize inconsistencies in the show with the logic in your story. Impressive story, indeed.
| Kyre chapter 11 . 12/22/2004
I'd never thought of Bling being in the hall during that pilot scene, but it works. Love his thoughts as he leaves. :) I also like Max and Logan's thoughts during the conversation, of course.
By the way, one of the *many* things I liked about this story was the fact that Peter was humanized. We didn't see him for long on the show, and there are very few fics that have him as a character, so he's sort of been this guy who was around for a while to provide lines and a plotline. It was really good to see him through the eyes of a man who'd actually been a friend; he feels more like a real character now.
Ahh. *sigh of satisfaction* Such a good story...
| Kyre chapter 10 . 12/22/2004
Great emotional content in this chapter-relief, anticipation, fear, grief, hope...
Heh, I like that Bling planned for Max just in case she showed up again, and that he revealed to Logan that she'd come to see how he was doing.
It's funny-as a DA fan, I wasn't surprised at all that neither Logan's dad nor his uncle had given him The Talk as a kid, so I was surprised that Bling was surprised. Hee!
"It wouldn’t be long...he’d be home and off her mind, he’d have his life back, so she could have hers."
Little does she know...lol
"If Eyes Only was the hope of the downtrodden...who was there to rescue him?"
Now we know the answer! Hopefully she will soon too. :)
| orca589 chapter 1 . 12/22/2004
Excellent start excellent middle excellent Finish Loved the inner thoughts of the three at the end the battle, and Bling's thought of Max dropping in and the argument take off from where it left off Masterful insight.
Hope to see more of your writting
| b l a c k r o s e 9 chapter 11 . 12/20/2004
that was truely awesome.
loved this line:
Logan Cale was back, pissed off and wound up, lecturing to a woman who dropped in on him, literally, after three months away, just as if not a day had passed.
so good! love it! thanks for the wonderful story- this ones going on my favourites list if it aint there already :)
| Alaidh chapter 11 . 12/20/2004
Ah...good story. Can we expect another from you soon? :)
| Alaidh chapter 10 . 12/20/2004
Great story so far. Sorry I've been a little remiss in my reviewing. It's not because I haven't been enjoying this.
One thing I'd like to point out, though, is that Max is not nearly as tiny as you seem to think. She's 5'6" or 5'7" (different sources give two different heights...lol) and I'm sure more than 100 pounds. Just look at her standing beside Val in 411 or look at her with Alina on the train in C.R.E.A.M. You can see how tall she is. :)
| catherder chapter 11 . 12/20/2004
What a good story. And I loved the internal asides. I'm sorry to see it end. More please!
