As if being James Potter's son wasn't a disturbing enough legacy to have to live down (at least when one of your teachers is Severus Snape). I'm impressed that Neville, whose family seems to be as much part of the pure-blood enclave as Ron's, picked up on and joined in with the Star Wars references. I like versions in which Snape (who gives the impression of being Darth Vader to Voldemort's Darth Sidious, only to turn out to have been on the Order's side after all) is Harry's father, but if this version could lead to redeemed!Voldemort, it could be interesting. As could Voldemort and Fudge secretly being allies (I assume Harry's just joking here, but it COULD turn out to be true after all - and it would explain why the Ministry of Magic tried so hard, and used such evil tactics, to suppress the news of Voldemort's return). Or was Voldemort corrupted by Dumbledore - or by Grindelwald, disappointed that Dumbledore had given up on his plans of world domination? (Not in the canonical version, obviously, where Grindelwald refuses to help Voldemort - but this is AU, after all.)

I've had an idea for a Harry Potter fanfic I probably won't write, in which Harry has a red-haired sister who looks exactly like Lily - and is an arrogant bully like James. She was adopted by the Weasley family, and as far as Ron knows, she is his twin sister. When Snape heard of the murders of the Potter family, he asked anxiously whether little Eileen was all right, and Dumbledore (both to punish him for not bothering to ask about Harry, and because he suspects that Harry is actually the Chosen One and doesn't want the Death Eaters to know of his survival), angrily tells him that Harry was hit by the Killing Curse (allowing him to assume that the boy is dead), and asks him to keep an eye on young Eileen Weasley, formerly Eileen Potter.

Having met Eileen Weasley on the train, Harry Dursley, Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom all decide they definitely DON'T want to be in Gryffindor with her. Hermione is sorted into Ravenclaw, which she is delighted with; Neville is sorted into Hufflepuff, which his grandmother isn't pleased about, but he makes some good friends, and enjoys having Professor Sprout as his Head of House and Cedric Diggory as a quasi-older-brother figure; Harry is sorted into Slytherin, which he is initially alarmed about, but soon realises that not ALL Slytherins are evil, and that he gets on quite well with his Head of House - especially as he is so indignant at the sneering way Eileen speaks to Professor Snape when he's trying to be nice to her that Harry himself makes more of an effort to be polite and hardworking for his Potions teacher, to make up for Eileen's rudeness. As a Gryffindor, Ron is torn between loyalty to his 'sister' and wishing he could be friends with Harry, if only Harry wasn't a Slytherin - but in time, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Neville realise that they have to work together to save Eileen from being drawn to the Dark Side.

I am fairly sure that someone would have made him a light saber in the sequel if there was one.
