Was not expecting it to be an elf! I suppose I kind of should have been... But I was expecting it to be Arathorn or something. Nice story, I really enjoyed it!

Ah ha! I found it!
I first read this story several years ago. Never reviewed, partially cuz I didn't have an account... Suddenly remembered its existence thanks to my recent Tolkien kick and decided to try and find it again. Took me several days and numerous jabs at the search engine, but it paid off!
Anyways. I like this story. It's short and simple, and bittersweet at the end.
And the reason why I *really* like this story? Our brigand friend there sets my Maglor senses tingling. (Honestly, I'm surprised none of your other reviewers got this feeling. Okay, okay, maybe I'm just a little obsessed with obscure Maglor references, but-REALLY, what other elf would be a loner, isolated from other elves, hanging out with questionable men by necessity, and shocked that there's still good in the world? I think a surviving and remorseful Kinslayer would fit that bill nicely...)
I could be wrong, I know. But I thought I'd put it out there. :D
All-in-all, great story. Glad I found it again. _
