Yes, yes, yes. This chapter. I'm rereading this story after like 4-5 years, and one of the only things I remembered was this chess shop and the owner being significant. I didn't remember when it first appeared, but I had an image in mind of Sirius and the owner playing chess and talking.
I'm being deliberately vague in case someone who hasn't read the rest of the story is looking at reviews.

Blew through this trilogy by having no life whatsoever and I have zero regrets. I read the first on AOx3 and was so incredibly depressed that it didn’t have its sequel, well thank goodness for some random commenter who mentioned FF! The series only got stronger as it went on, and your writing improved so much too! I hope you’ve written and published a novel of your own after writing this incredible series. I’d buy it! I also didn’t realize this was written before the HP series was completed and I love how you fashioned your own plot and made the world your own. You have a talent and I’m so glad I embarked on this wild ride. Thank you!

this chapter irritates me because how and why is it okay for Sirius to threaten an innocent muggle. Dudley and his family can't throw off a tickling hex that was cruel they threatened the Dursley's into doing what they wanted them to do. they're hardly much better than voldy. this is why I hate Lilly and the marauders.

This has to be the greatest Harry Potter fanfiction trilogy ever written. such an amazing story. thank you for this
