|Reviews for New Kyoto Post|
| anaemicfaeries chapter 1 . 2/4/2006
Ha ha, what an original and humourous fic! _ He he, liked the Kyoto survival guide... and YMSA? LOL! Can't wait to read more.
| omasuoniwabanshi chapter 12 . 1/16/2006
Cute blend of fact, cannonical fiction, and artifice. The 'On second thought, don't return Sano and Katsura to the orphanage' had me laughing.
The lebelous accusations about young boys and stress relief were...disturbing. Hopefully the new editor, Ikeda Koji, will keep such rumors in check.
I can see how 'Green Tea and Haiku' follows along with this. Very creative!
| omasuoniwabanshi chapter 6 . 12/28/2005
I'm really enjoying reading the old 'issues' of the New Kyoto Post! Nice blend of PMK and RK, and loved the use of authentic historical details. So Shishio is taking over the advice column? Must read on!
| Fai Gensou chapter 14 . 7/17/2005
Umm... Shishio did off the traitor in the OVA. Katsura only watched. Remember, he promised Takasugi in the OVA after hiring Kenshin that he wouldn't draw his sword again, in order to keep his own life virturuos because Kenshin's work would taint his soul.
| aoi-sensei chapter 30 . 6/22/2005
I love this! I know sorry, it took me forever to finsih reading it cuz i had so much stuff to do. But now i can congratulate you! Good job!
| PattyBones chapter 30 . 4/30/2005
For someone who hated to do historical research it really does not show. I believe you did a good job with these newpapers. I look forward to reading any other fanfics of yours.
| M.Kasshoku chapter 30 . 4/29/2005
*cries* I'm sad to see this fic end too. But this was one funny issue. I almost fell out of my chair at the warning to Shishio. I really enjoyed reading this. Not only was this funny, but I got quite a lesson in Japanese history as well. I'll be looking for your next fics. Take care.
| lolo popoki chapter 30 . 4/29/2005
Ah... thanks for clearing that up! I had completely forgotten that you mentioned it before... sorry! So this was the last issue, eh? Pity... :( Thanks for keeping us all entertained with these! I'll look forward to your Sake Shack fic when you start posting it!
| Maeko-Nohara chapter 30 . 4/29/2005
Gawd. Everybody's dying. I am sad.
Well then. This is seriously the last issue? But there's so much more to write about! T_T That is cruel.
Ah, poor Umeko-okasan. Can't imagine what'll happen to her now, neh?
Isn't it 'Takasugi-sensei', in that order?
Eh! What a message from Ryouma, neh?
I feel vaguely intelligent now because I knew that historical fact at the bottom. *yeess* I enjoy history research, but it depends on what I'm researching and why. :)
Loved it, loved it, loved it oh so much. *worships*
| lolo popoki chapter 29 . 4/28/2005
Very interesting! Poor Umeko... she really liked that guy. Just curious, but when exactly did Umeko start seeing ghosts? She couldn't see them during the course of this fic, but she could during the Meiji... Was her breakdown what triggered it?
| Maeko-Nohara chapter 29 . 4/27/2005
Tsunan-chan is the cute. I just love him so much. Sano used to be my favorite but he's too brash and loud for me. (Though Tsunan's ultra serious, the poor baby. It's getting worse with every day now, neh? That's why it's good to keep Hiko close by.)
Heh. The personal ad was fun. Hiji's one of my PMK favorites and all, but... :)
Nami's note at the end of the advice column was very, very funny to me- probably more than it should've been. I do love dear Umeko-okasan though.
So maybe I should address the main issue of this chapter? T_T Poor Ryoma. I really should read the rest of PMK... as I'm just pretending to know what's going on. I need to read 3 and 4! And 5, of course, but I'm too lazy to ask my mom to drive the 15 min. to B&N...
It's a fairly straightfoward deal here, I know, but I'm fuzzy about the background of it.
What's worse, I must admit, is that I'm fuzzy about the sides people were on back then! Ergh. I know more about this than the rest of my entire Japanese-history-ignorant school, but it's not enough for moi. Hmm. Well, I'm certainly not asking you to lay it out for me, so don't. :D
What? Possibly more deaths? AH! Be reasonable, senbi-sama. I'll cry. I will actually, physically cry if you kill these people off, especially poor Saya-chan. What did she ever do to anybody?
Oh, can't wait for a new fic. Even though this one rocks my footie socks, of course. XD
| Kuhori Rei who is too lazy to sign in chapter 29 . 4/27/2005
Yay, an update! This fic is awesome...I feel guilty that I haven't reviewed before now.
I know I must seem like a horrible person to ask for favors, and that you don't know me at all, and that you're probably a very busy person, but if you could find the time, do you think you could send me some scans from PMK 4? I've been looking for it everywhere, but I haven't been able to find it in any bookstores, or on if you don't have time, could you just tell me where you bought it? My email address is above. And in my profile, but I didn't sign in...Anyways, thanks very much, and I love the chapter!
| lolo popoki chapter 28 . 4/24/2005
Ha! I finally got around to reading this! Great job; just as amusing as the Meiji one! Unfortunately, I'm not as familiar with most of the events as I've only seen the first 15 episodes of PMK and none of the manga yet. I love the Kenni/Sou friendship you created... that's just so cute really :) And Shishio as the replacement advice columnist was hilarious! Looking forward to the next issue!
| Maeko-Nohara chapter 28 . 4/15/2005
NO! My poor Hei-chan! *weeps* Wonderful obituatary, I bet he feels so loved. Everybody's obsessed with Shimbara.
That poor Okiie-chan, neh? Yes, maybe it's a good idea that you don't write his death in...
Besides, the We-Luv-Okita fanclub will probably raze the city to the ground... And hunt down Hiji-sama...
Kenshin's such a sweetie! And then he grows up.
We know what happens then.
*goes to read the Bulletin*
| M.Kasshoku chapter 28 . 4/15/2005
Boy, Saitoh just keeps getting in deeper and deeper. Why was Tokio in such a hurry to marry him? Okay, I'm kidding. Saitoh's actually one of my favorite PMK and RK characters, so it tickles me to see him portrayed this way. It's nice to see that he has his faults despite being an ultra-fabulous a Shinsengumi captain. Until the next issue, take care.
