|Reviews for Fallen to Ashes|
| Salome Maranya chapter 1 . 6/5/2014
Oh Eru, that was just depressing. I think you did well with Maglor's thoughts- he would probably have despised their actions but they were simply doomed whatever happens. No matter how you delay the fall, if you are fated to, you will fall.
Nice work, I liked your other stories as well.
| BookWorm624 chapter 1 . 5/4/2014
So sad and such a beautiful snap shot here! I often wondered what possessed Fëanor to wage war and murder over a bunch of stones and metal and then bring his 7 children into the mess! Surely the lives of 7 precious sons should be worth more than a couple of jewels!
| Sobhan chapter 1 . 9/11/2012
| VioTanequil chapter 1 . 8/22/2012
Wow. I think you managed to perfectly capture the heartbreak and tragedy of the Sons of Feanor in this fic. Maglor was the perfect choice of eyes to view this incident through.
Thank you for the wonderful fic.
| Duilin chapter 1 . 8/3/2011
I think this captures childhood Celegorm, and Celegorm when he is an adult. Maglor, of course, is the BEST.
| Emily chapter 1 . 2/4/2010
How sad. I almost cried. : (
| amebane chapter 1 . 5/10/2009
I liked your story. I think the brothers were the tragic figures of the First Age. They followed their Father into hell.
| asdfjkl chapter 1 . 6/29/2008
that made me cry!
| Jimmy Candlestick chapter 1 . 4/11/2008
that was awesome...
| Fili chapter 1 . 3/10/2007
So wonderful, I loved it! I'm in a terrible hurry right now and can't make this long, but wanted to let you know that this was very strong, and beautiful, and sad. Lovely...
| LadyEledhwen chapter 1 . 6/15/2006
This story really made me weep... I cant express how much this touched me... I saw the scene very vividly in my mind... I loved the part where Maglor remembers how the usually cold Celegorm hugged him as he cradles him in his arms... it reminded me of my own brother... my eyes really got teary there. But then there was Celegorms request for a song... and his terror as he clinges for his older brother as he breathes out his life... Maglor who can do nothing for him except of trying him to give comfort before his inescapable end... I am really lost for words.
"The light in the silver eyes faded. “Maka…” "
I really wept with Maglor at this point...
| Depprium chapter 1 . 11/16/2005
What an excellent piece of writing. Celegorm crying out for Maglor as he is dying is really heartwrenching and haunting- he will have no piece in death, instead his fate is to be damned to the Everlasting Darkness.
| SongMaster chapter 1 . 6/22/2005
Dear Ms. Silverquill
| Macie chapter 1 . 6/10/2005
Wow! As I finished reading this story, I found myself getting teary. I usually don't cry over fanfic, but your story was so emotional that I just had to! You did an awesome job! :)
Just a side note-someone mentioned the Void from Wheel of Time. I'm not sure what the author intended but there is a Void mentioned in the Silmarillion, completely different from the concept of WoT. If I am remembering correctly, the Void was where Melkor, Sauron, and the other condemned souls went after death...
| Coyote Phillips chapter 1 . 5/11/2005
*stunned silence* WOW.
Slight nit-pick (sorry; I'm nearly done with a semester-long Andvanced Prose Writing college English class in which we proofread each other's papers and find countless mistakes in all of them; also, I'm not familiar with the Silmarilon [see? I can't even spell it!]): The Void is a Robert Jordan (author of The Wheel of Time saga) creation. Is it mentioned at all in the Silmarilon?
But still...OHMIGOSH WOW! I agrea with the other reviewers- wait- this isn't just great, it's amazing.
