For Teal'c to remark on Daniel's comment, "You mean there's a method to his madness" is surprising. Jack makes comments like that all the time, usually with a bite.

Despite my rebuttals, this is a very interesting story and well-considered.

This is very OOC for Daniel; he would be one of the *last* to leave someone missing, just as Jack would be.

There are a good many more instances where Jack (and Sam) didn't trust Daniel's advice or judgment, and/or reacted with negative remarks or even contempt. Not that Jack was always wrong when there was no time, but his manner was to frequently denigrate Daniel's opinion or suggestions - or even his professional work.

Like Euronda. Jack, Sam & Teal'c were all ignoring good questions at the briefing to the point that Daniel was forced to raise those questions in public. When he did, Jack reacted with contempt, not just a professional negative, though the questions were good ones.

And with the Gadmeer, Jack could have at least told Daniel to look for another option, but know that the bomb was going to have to be set. That it was a case of the SGC's responsibility to people they had aided and relocated to that planet and that, barring other options, they had to follow through. Instead, Jack essentially refused to even contemplate other options and refused to allow Daniel to do so while Jack and the others worked on the base plan.

Interesting story. Not sure what mistake you think Jack made with Reese.

I'm glad you wrote this because the end of that episode sort of left me hanging. It was a good story with an extremely well-thought out plot.

The story was well written and structured and the plot interested me instantly. I could see the point you were trying to make however I don't believe it was an accurate replesentation of the TV characters. A nice story all the same.
