| Fenris Jin chapter 7 . 3/28/2013
I love the curse. Well, the ascension of each Snow Queen I mean.. XD
...Saitou was so adorable! I wouldn't say sweet. More like a dark chocolate blend! :)
I wonder if Tomoe was actually the Ice Queen.. Come to think of it.. In chapter 3, there was something that Enishi purposely avoid telling Kaoru.. I wonder what it all was..
Thanks for the wonderful read! XD
| Fenris Jin chapter 6 . 3/28/2013
Aww.. Saitou, can you be more adorable? Well, yes you can I suppose. Plenty more, as a matter of fact! But, it's the closest we can get without involving Tokio.. XD
If anything, our dear wolf is the only one quite worried over Kaoru's pursuit. Though that may be relevant to the fact that the wolf knows the dangers of the snow queen. It is the concern that counts.. XD
| Fenris Jin chapter 5 . 3/27/2013
Oh Sou-chan.. You're too happy for someone who got drugged, tied up, and almost killed by bandits. I could already imagine Kaoru resisting to facepalm..
Kaoru is becoming quite a heartbreaker isn't she. Not directly of course.. But, by the looks of Enishi and Soujiro.. If Misao wasn't a girl, she'd be in for it.. XD
Honestly though, I was surprised that Saitou did not die on the spot from all the fluff Misao was oozing from her little speech about Aoshi... XD
I love Saitou! Yeah! XD He's an acquired taste that I hope Kaoru will learn to appreciate.. XD
How come I have a feeling that Misao, Kaoru and Enishi might find themselves in the same place?
| Fenris Jin chapter 4 . 3/27/2013
Wow, Yahiko Megumi, and Sano all in one episode! Then Soujiro was even introduced!
I live the fox doctor's palace/clinic. Queen would sound fitting for her. :)
Yahiko was such a sweetheart, despite his best efforts not to appear as such.. XP
Finally! Kaoru meets someone who has the forethought to equip her for a journey! Thank goodness for Megumi! XD
You must really love Enishi for him to dominate a whole chapter! Not to mention, receive Kaoru's utmost attention at such duration! XD
| Fenris Jin chapter 3 . 3/27/2013
Damn it Enishi, get your little paws off! ..Well actually, I didn't mean that! I would have agreed for you to keep Kaoru after all, except you already did.. for a whole year! XD
Enishi and Kaoru were so adorable. A few more years and they would have hooked up! XD
I was worried that Kamiya would leave him and I was actually hoping that she'd go recruit the man while they both searched for their missing someone. Said people might be holed up in the same place! XD Anyway, your idea was better, on count that Kaoru remains independent in her search.. Although, I would have wished Kaoru sort of packed a few provisions for her journey seeing as she'll be in it for the long haul.. XP
I had always thought Kaoru would be too young for her and Kenshin's happily ever after reunion.. but I suppose she'll be earning those years while travelling.
I was wondering though.. was she able to give Enishi the gift she was making for him?
| Fenris Jin chapter 2 . 3/27/2013
Hmmm.. very, very interesting.
Your writing make me visualize this story in a ghibli like fashion.. Magic, mystery, adventure with a head strong heroine out to rescue a pretty redhead in distress.. XD
I can already feeling the anxiety and excitement for the coming events..XD
| Fenris Jin chapter 1 . 3/27/2013
Wow.. That was something else.
I could already picture Kenshin and Kaoru playing around as kids.. So, so adorable! XD, the bridge quest they took on for themselves was exceptionally cute since they have gathered supporters on their own.
The father figures were nice too. Father Kamiya and Hiko were good parents despite all.

Such a well-written story that I had to leave a review. Thanks for taking the time to write and post it!
| Emertheawesome chapter 7 . 8/7/2011
This is probably one of the most beautiful fics I've ever read. It's lovely, modern and whimsical, a fairytale of the most beautiful sort. You've managed to mix so many aspects of folktales and old stories, all into one very pure-hearted adventure.
I am astounded, and I will definitely be remembering, and pondering, this story for quite some time.
| Okobo-chan chapter 5 . 1/25/2011
I grew up reading East of the Sun, West of the Moon. This is a lovely woven fable.
| Nadya Lubov chapter 7 . 11/1/2009
Good story :) The only thing is I think maybe a little more could have happened at the end for Kaoru to get Kenshin back. I thought for sure the snow queen was going to be Tomoe or something like that :) But good story though :)
| Nadya Lubov chapter 3 . 11/1/2009
This story is so great :) I remember this fairy tale now :) Can't wait to read more :)
| Nadya Lubov chapter 2 . 10/31/2009
This story is great so far :) Can't wait to read what happens next :)
| J Luc Pitard chapter 7 . 8/29/2009
Enjoyed this "Down the Rabbit's Hole" sort of story (yes, I know it's based on The Snow Queen, but the effect or your writing style had me thinking of Carroll.) One thing I found a bit lacking was the edge that having Battousai represent his changed sef may have given. He becomes a puppet of The Snow Queen, so to stick with the RK narrative, he could do some things he'd later find quite hard to forgive himself for, right? Also, we don't get to see her break bad with her bokken. Otherwise, I love this story. Kaoru gets to show her fortitude and, despite her innate violence being downplayed here, her character is well explored. I especially liked the interlude with Enishi who is normally not a character I find very sympathetic. Well written.

Wow...this was just an amazing story! Really, it was just wonderful prose, and the poems at the beginning really set the tone for each chapter!
