| grumpy chapter 1 . 3/5/2005
I love Glimi's idea of what easter rabbits are for, I myself love the rabbits that are made of chocolate.
Poor Aragorn he did not have a good time with his Easter-lings. Legolas should not make fun of him he was only a small child.
| glyph chapter 1 . 3/4/2005
"Easter", despite its Pagan roots, is a distinctly Christian holiday, and the 'Easter Bunny' a modern commercial addition. As such, it has no place in the Tolkien universe.
I find it unpleasantly jarring to jusxtapose this glaringly modern Christian holiday into Middle Earth. Its presence negates all the care you put into crafting this story.
Your only hope for salvaging this story is to drop the clever word-play, and come up with a name for a spring celebration that would be appropriate for Middle Earth, much like the pagan traditions Easter replaced.
It is quite unfortunate you chose such an inappropriate subject matter, otherwise you might have had a very nice story.
