| CRITTERCREATURE chapter 1 . 11/20/2006
Nice poem. Capture's Eragon's sorrow nicely without being melodramatic.
| Kirosha chapter 1 . 10/6/2005
It really doesn't evoke anything out of me. I have read both Eragon and Eldest, and it really doesn't fit his personality in the least. He certainly was sad...yes. But his actions speak of a different thought process and that is only confirmed by the second book. While I realize that this was written before the second book came out, I thought it was obvious by just the first book that he wouldn't think like that. Or I might be totally wrond and just be shot. :P
| QuillInkAndParchment chapter 1 . 7/22/2005
Oh, it's so sad! But very good!
| Morzana chapter 1 . 7/7/2005
This is very good! The imagery is flowing and sweet. Only one thing detracts: The harsh cut between a percieved third-person narration in the beginning and the more obviously Eragon-narrated part in the end. Try and smooth out the POV and it's amazing...
| Padfoots Daughter-Mivea chapter 1 . 4/14/2005
That was really beautiful and sad. I still can't believe that Brom had to die, but I understand that it had to happen. Love your poem so much, Brom was one of my favorite characters.
| Aleatory chapter 1 . 3/15/2005
very nice.. if you didn't win there must have been some really good poems..
you might want to consider commas, it's a different style but it makes for an easier read...
