Reviews for Was, Is, Will Be
Mareo and Anime chapter 1 . 4/9/2005
(Brow deeply furrowed) Is, will be, was... This is freaky, but I think I, partly at least, understand this...

The Xatu isn't part of time, it only imagines it is... Interesting...
WindieDragon chapter 1 . 4/1/2005
I think I kinda understand it, for the most part. It's this one part that was just... almost like "in one ear, out the other" except with my mind, if that makes sense. From the words: "Fine, then." to "See?" I'm like: uhh, yeah...

Lol. My language arts teacher would probably love this, maybe I should have him read it. But that'll have to wait, as today is the beginning of my very happy and long awaited SPRING BREAK :D!
Cytrus chapter 1 . 3/31/2005
Your reviewers say it was confusing, and I can't understand them.

This is a perfectly logical piece. Heavy, yes, but not confusing. In this case, confusing would mean badly written. This was not badly written.

It is probably the stream of consciousness that throws everybody off. The only way this could be truly presented may, to some, appear the worst way.

Our Xatu interpretations differ. I would think that through equal non-existence of past and future a Xatu may gain perfect clarity of present. But in your assumption, their insight is boundless thus casting them deeper into the fabric of time. This changes everything and leads us to the point you abused perfectly.

We cannot describe ourselves. The simple paradox. Everybody can tell you everything about how you look. Without a mirror, you are powerless to know the colour of your eyes. The deeper the connection between Xatu and time, the more they understand it, and the more they cannot express it. They could express an outside occurrence though... this leads us to another of your great schemes.

Celebi. If what I said was true, he would be understandable as an outsider. He is not. There is a rescue rope. The Xatu may be unable to define others because of its inability to define itself. You tear that down gracefully enough. The Xatu swiftly and easily explains the nature of the Sceptile. Just as swiftly as he fails at understanding Celebi.

Another paradox. The assemblage of all assemblages. Content may not suffice to define the whole. The Xatu are Celebi's heralds. He defines them. He cannot be defined through or by them.

Dream. Only a metaphor of a situation under any circumstances. The release of restraints. The cruel irony being that unrestrained means unfastened. Everything achieved without rules may not function in a world abiding them.

So informs the second voice. The voice of non-existence. It is everything which the Xatu is not. It cannot be thus it can know. And where there is a little hope for understanding, it is reflected with a great fear of it.

From your comments I deduce that you did not think about your work on such terms, but it doesn't change anything. I doubt Exupery was aware of the whole genius of his "Little Prince" either.

And you did get a real, long review too.

VulpixTrainer chapter 1 . 3/28/2005
Okay i got lost... Uh... i think i am kind of confused by this, very maddening to think about, and i get very little of this, if any. but still you keep a good sense of writting even when the story twists like this.
PNEK MEKS chapter 1 . 3/28/2005
That was very, very, confusing. I understood very little of it, yet, it made me think. Man I hate when things make me think because then i go insane thinking. What ever, it's like trying to simplify the complex, you can't. Because what you end up with is something more complex then the complexity of what it was before.

...I SO CONFUSED!
Lynny M chapter 1 . 3/27/2005
Fascinating peice. Lemme tell ya, there are not enough spirituality-based pokemon fics out there. I've considered writing them myself but am at a lack of inspiration as of now.

However, as I stated before, this was very good. Touched upon some deep thoughts. My congrats.
Farla chapter 1 . 3/27/2005
I liked this. It does get to the point where it seems to get a trifle too obtuse somewhere in the middle, but altogether it's very interestingly done and has a nice ramble-y feel to it. I like the narration a great deal, it was consistent thoughout and done in an interesting voice.
ImJessieTR chapter 1 . 3/27/2005
How zen...

Time can be such a fickle thing; it can be stretched, stopped, etc...

And people wonder why real psychics are depressed and stuff - if you had all that stuff running through your head, you wouldn't feel great either.

BTW, I liked the story.
Pata Hikari chapter 1 . 3/27/2005
Freaky...

This is pretty confusing.

Oh well, it's still cool _
