i read the first 36 chapters over on AO3, but came here for the omake x3

i usually don't like omakes at all...but OMG i loved this one xD really loved how you made fun of your own story

The plot was really, really well thought out, it was really interesting concept and I read it in one go. AlWin threw me off a bit, because I'm an idiot and didn't read it in the summary. But I was pleasantly surprised with how you handled it. Al's character was a bit different than I thought it would be (a lot more emotional and uh horny *grins*), but yeah, it was an understandable change and I still loved him. Roy's confession was the cutest thing ever and I seriously want to hurt anyone that tortured him. Midnight was an interesting character. Didn't know what I had to think of him at first, but I really grew to like hi. His ability was really interesting too.

The idea behind the array was absolutely genius. I loved how you built up to it and worked it out. The fuhrer in this story was irritating to no end and I wished I could punch him a few times through my screen, because that guy is such an war-crazy /idiot/. I loved how gutsy Winry was in this, and I'm really glad you gave her such an active roll in the story.

Wow, just read this all in one go and I really loved it! I couldn't stop reading till the very end, it's such a grat story. I especially like your Roy, the way he manipulated the people in his vicinity so effortlessy was truly fascinating if a little frightening. Anyway, thanks for this wonderful story! :)

Reading Pawns was like watching FMA all over again. A beautiful plot, distinguished characters, and a harsh outlook on military life- all perfect.

Beautiful story, and intense. this scared the crap out of me at first but i couldn't turn away. i had to finish it and i loved it. thank you for being an awesome writer and giving me something to enjoy again and again.

Stupidly - when I first read this fic, i didn't add it to my favourites.

So for the past few months I've been looking for it in earnest - finally finding it a few hours ago.

That was definitely impressive. Angsty, but impressive. And very enjoyable.

So yeah, 'wow' seems like a good way to sum things up. Your depiction of the characters is very interesting. I especially liked the whole Ed-going-all-emo-cuz-he-has-no-way-to-know-what-the-hell's-going-on-in-Roy's-head thingy. It feels definitely plausible. Your plot is very original and interesting.

I also have to say I enjoyed reading your A/N as much as the chapters themselves. Your humor is on a much higher and subtle level than that of most people on FFnet. Thank you for that.

As for your omake, it has to be the *funniest* thing I've ever read. Now my neighbors know for sure I'm mental, snorting and guffawing all by myself in front of my laptop.

Finally, I apologize for being such a lazy ass and leave only one review for the whole story. I really think you deserve way more reviews than what you got so far; however, it seems like my laziness is still bigger than my conscience. I just gave a whole new meaning to the concept of "lame". Hurray!

This was just GREAT! I've been sitting glued to the screen for two days, neglecting sleep, food and school. But it was so worth it! One of the best and most satisfying fanfics I've ever read; Original, intriguing and very credible plot, RoyEd AND AlWin, loveable OC (I tell you, it’s rare), both action, angst and fluff in a most satisfying blend, a smug and sleek Roy that is not “romanticized” like he often tends to be, a happy ending, a most suitable length (neither drawn out nor irritatingly short), and at last terribly well written! Can one ask for more? I certainly won’t, because this was wonderful, delighting, inspiring! I feel like writing again, and it is all because of you! Thank you a thousand times for this, you have given me some pleasure in my rather gray everyday life.

My face hurts I'm smiling so much; that last chapter summary was priceless - and it helped that I read your fic in a single sitting so all the gags were fresh.

That was a wonderful fic; your original characters had depth and were believable; I was quite attached to Ashfell, Devers and Midnight. A good bunch that.

Okay, the ending was just like "Whoa!" One minute it's all unbearably angsty, then attack of the fluffbunnies, then you have THE MOST hilarious omake!
