This was excellent! You matched the tone of Tolkien's writing marvelously and characterized everyone very well. I only wish we could have seen Gimli's conversation with Legolas; that must have been something to behold! But I see why you left it out, it would have probably felt clunky added in. All in all, well done! :D

My favorite fanfiction of all time and all fandoms. Masterfully written, full of details and povs, with smooth and clear plot line. Never fails to amaze and fascinates me. I stare for the longest times at single paragraphs, sinking in the scene and trying to imagine as much details as I could. It's a quite dark fiction, pretty cruel on the main characters but that's what er love, isn'it? Other than Sam amazing portrait I love how you depicted Aragorn's feeling for Legolas, expecially when they are in the cave after Legolas' rescue.
I've read this many times and I should admit that everytime I fall deeply in love with the elf. This ff provides me several days to fantasize and day dream. I kind of whish I could be in Sam position.
There is so much going on in this ff and the reader is fully satisfied with all kind of flashbacks, narrations by the protagonists, environment descriptions... MASTER PIECE.

This is my second time reading this, after a few years, and it somehow was even better than I remembered. I truly enjoyed reading this story, and feel that it is a wonderful piece that I shall remember with as much fondness as I do the books it was inspired by. Thank you so much for wring it and sharing it with us. I absolutely love it.
