![]() ![]() ![]() Good story, maybe even great story, but... call me greedy, I still want to know if anyone has tried to backtrack on that original planet where it all began - to find out for sure who, and why? |
![]() ![]() ![]() No, never a dog person, but definitely a Sheppard person. Loved the wise cracking humor throughout the story in all the parts. Too bad about the carnivorous frogs, would have made a nice Alpha site from the description. And as much as I like frogs, you could not pay me to spend a night on that planet. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Enjoyed this so much I can't even begin to tell you. Everything was perfect. |
![]() ![]() Wow! Have missed this gem for so long?! How?! Loved it, loved it, loved it! Brilliantly written! Love the humor, the banter, just everything! Perfect! Love the reference Johnsheppard/German shepherd! Isn't he though! Story going in My faves! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was really good, thank you. Every word a delight to read. And you deal with the characters like they belong to you. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Despite the fact that the series really did disappoint me for it's lack of real character development after a certain point (and the fact that the writers' imaginations seemed to have died a swift and terrible death), my interest has been kept alive these few years with works of fanfiction such as yours. I think it's kind of sad when the fanfiction turns out to be sooooo much better than than the series that spawned it. However, without such incredible works of fanfiction such as yours, I would have walked away years ago and lost all faith in humanity and so on. lol Thank you once again in restoring my faith in fanfiction writers (at least ;-)) and reminding me why I continue to peruse these countless fics at random hoping to find this one incredible gem. I've broken a commentary record with you (omg 3 on a single fic!). I can't tell you how much I appreciate the time, effort, eye for detail, and so much more. I look forward to more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() lmfao Mental games are the best. OMG you've done it twice! I think you just broke a record. I've never had to comment on a single fic more than once. However, your paragraph concerning the Great Rodney McKay's return from the dead forced me to pause for an extended period to laugh myself into an asthma attack. I have had quite possible one of the longest work weeks ever. That made my day. Again, I bow to your awesome writing talent and thank you repeatedly. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Holy crap... That was messed up. I liked it. It was very different. Given how much fanfiction I read, I'm not that easily impressed. It took me a few minutes to wrap my brain around where it was going. And the end was a fantastically bittersweet one, in my opinion. I rarely find the need to comment on a perfectly written fic due to the fact that they speak for themselves and there is precious little I can contribute. However, this was one was outstanding the in first installment and more than deserving of praise. If nothing else this will at least add to your review count, right? lol I thank you for the time and effort involved in the creation of this fic. I greatly look forward to finding more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very fun. The angst was angsty, the humor was funny, and there were killer frogs. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was a great read! Hilarious and in character, with delicious John and Rodney snark flying around :D |
![]() ![]() ![]() I came across this story in another author's favorites list. I had to write and say this is the best story I have read to date. Sheppard and McKay were characterized so very well and throughout the story their close relationship was evident. It was a great mix of sadness and humor. The clones actions were heart-wrenching, but other areas of the story found me laughing out loud. I only wish you had resolved the situation with John's body. I feel strongly they would have to go back for it. Leaving it would not be an option for either one of them. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Carson's freak out was very real, very in character and horrifying for Jonh and Rodney, but not surprising for the reader. |
![]() ![]() ![]() The story starts with it becoming obvious in only the second paragraph that Rodney is dead and John is planning to join him soon. The echo that occurs with the repetition of "See you soon, McKay" helps reinforce the second, quietly dropped bombshell of the story. From then on the reader back and forth between the original mission and the events that unravelled afterwards. Information drifts through in pieces so that the reader knows the devastating situation that there has been on Atlantis before it's time for the return. The John and Rodney Variety Show description of a mission is completely hilarious! As well as pretty true! The ending is just beautiful though, hope, happiness and a just reward for what they went through! Have been vague to try and kept spoilers out of the review, because tha would be a crime against writing. |
![]() ![]() That, was a great read! I read the first chapter wide eyed and not blinking, luckely the end of the chapter brought tears to my eyes so they didn't burn much. The other two were just as enjoyable. I laughed out loud in my office as Sheppard said the thing about the phallic symbolism of walking through the stargate...lol...still giggling. Anyway. This is a grade A quality fanfic. You have talent! I hope you wrote more SGA fanfic...;) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hiya! I loved this story, especially the first part; ouch! But I would say that numerous flashbacks might be helped out by a divider-line of some sort... a break, maybe? It took some focus to realize 'when' we were, especially in that last chapter. I like the idea that John and Rodney's clones were much like themselves, and willing to do whatever it took to rescue their counterparts. That's them all over. The idea that Rodney trusted John enough to ask him to take his life... I was expecting to see some sort of declaration, or discussion of what that meant for them... but John somewhat ruled that out with his rapid departure from Heightmeyer. I've always liked your stuff, but never knew you were on ff-dot-net. Makes it easier to review! :) -K |
