I've been so engrossed and have been devouring this story the past few days that I've forgotten to leave reviews! Once I've caught up to the latest chapter I will do my best to review the first 38.

I was thrilled to see them dancing and singing again. Who is to say that they cannot be like that again? Afterall it would be such a shame for it to go to waste.

This is one of the best redemption arcs I’ve read for Erik. I like how he has to live in the world and face the people he’s wronged. Nothing is glossed over or chalked up to an ‘accident’. Christine doesn’t just forgive and forget but learns to see, and love, the good and bad sides of him - the whole man. And Erik seems to truly be appalled by some of his past deeds. It’s all so well put together. I really hope you can continue one day, abandoned masterpieces break my heart.

Just saw the note in your profile :( does that mean another long hiatus/not knowing if you’ll come back, or just a short break? Hoping it’s the latter but would understand if it’s the former. This story is my light in a strange world, I hope you can continue soon.

I’ve not been on this site in a while, and I was so pleased to see a couple of Solo updates! I’m having problems with my account so forgive the anonymous review. This story is truly a marvel and your writing seems so effortlessly brilliant. I felt cold at the thought of Christine walking through the snow, and could sense Raoul's unease at arriving home to the assortment of visitors. I found the description of Erik playing the instrument hauntingly beautiful. I’m so pleased this story has continued. It’s truly my favourite. - Yours, Fictional

Wonderful update, I loved all the historical details in this. I really like Guinevere and the rapport she has with Raoul. She is a good contrast to the wistfulness of Christine and I hope we see more of her. Raoul’s POV was interesting to follow here as he seemed to navigate one uncomfortable situation to another. It made it clear at the end just how comfortable he and Christine are with each other. I liked learning about their plans for ‘looting’ and the call back to Erik in the previous chapter. But this motley crew makes me nervous for some reason! I think Jean will become a powerful player in the politics to come. Oh and I hope the poor old manservant doesn’t lose his job. I’ll be worried for him until we hear from him again :D thanks for a great chapter. If this is split into two does that mean we may have another to look forward to fairly soon? ;)

oh I'm so glad this story is back! This was one of the best things I read a few months back, when I was fully caught up in a newcomer's spree of POTO fanfiction reading, and I was afraid it'd been abandoned. Great chapter - and what's up with Erik? I guess we'll see.
