![]() ![]() ![]() Nice to have a look into Erik’s thoughts. Glad he didn’t kill Madame Giry. Also is that a tiny hint of redemption Anyways I am hooked |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the update. I am now retreading in the hope that by the time I get to the end you will have the next chapter up. Great writing x |
![]() ![]() ![]() Such a beautiful chapter. |
![]() ![]() Brava, brava, bravissima! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I adore this chapter. As I am re-reading this story, this is one of my favorites. |
![]() ![]() ![]() An update, excellent! Loved Erik's satisfaction at being able to play the forbidden instrument from his time with the gypsies. Good contrast here with his excitement at the house crashing so horribly. It's almost comical, his anger at the men stealing "his" about-to-be-stolen supplies. Hope he doesn't get himself caught or in trouble tonight. Christine is, at the very least, going to be furious with him. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was a lovely chapter, as much as I like times when a story is full of action, chapters of quieter introspection help us to see the bones of a character. Erik’s inward journey in the first half was interesting. A real journey homeward to music, overcoming both his propensity for violence with the looters, and charging through the tragic memories of his past with the gypsies. Finally landing where he should within his own music (but maybe don’t forget your wife next time, Erik! ha) It was beautifully written! Also, Christine, whose POV I always cherish, turning away from having to sing the songs of others, and wanting her own heritage and music to shine through. Sad, yet lovely! Also I loved all the little details about the apartment building, and the folk working in the theatre. These details don so much to bring the story to life. Anyway, I do hope they both literally get home safe. There was something a little ominous about all that snow and darkness, like a pause before something dangerous. Or perhaps I’m just of a paranoid disposition at the moment :) thank you for a great update |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is by far my most favorite chapter of this immense and beautiful work. The juxtaposition and irony of the turn of events (Raoul's life was once in Erik's hands, and now it is again...) yet, Erik has become the Prodigal son...turning from his old self in the catacombs, and dragging Raoul, a man he once hated so deeply...to safety. Such a wonderfully and visceral scene that you have written. Your storytelling abilities and writing astound me. Such beauty and depth. I have read this story over a long period of time and am just now commenting...but I will make up for lost time. Thank you for putting your heart into this work, and as a writer myself, I know how much time chapters take to compose. - L |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hi! I wanted to let you know how much I am enchanted by your story and am very excited and hopeful to see it continue. It has been 15 years since I have read any fanfiction but after seeing Love Never Dies, I wanted a different ending for Erik and Christine. Thank you for sharing your vision. I eagerly await the next chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() OMG! I nearly fainted when I saw this update. Thank you so much! One of my favorite fics ever! So beautiful! |
![]() ![]() I was one of the people bugging for an update and this has made me so happy! Thank you for this lovely chapter . I liked the dual perspective of Erik facing up to his past with the gypsies while rediscovering music. I hope you’re managing to keep safe and well. Big hugs :D |
![]() ![]() Spellbinding! |
![]() ![]() This is SUCH an amazing fanfiction. I love that you're taking things slow but you capture perfectly the characters and the passion between Christine and Erik. The dialogue is amazing as well. Love love it |
![]() ![]() Hey Tango, would you be able to let us know if you’re still writing this story? I hope you’re safe and well |
![]() ![]() I relate to this story so much more with everything currently happening in the world. If you ever have time to write another chapter it’d be a light in the darkness :’-) |
