![]() ![]() ![]() lol I’m rereading this I can’t stop myself |
![]() ![]() ![]() Can’t wait for the next chapter! Once again, amazing job! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Gorgeous chapter. This feels like an epic rather than a fanfic in the traditional sense. Amazing. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hey Tango. Thank you for another wonderful chapter. I actually read the chapter when it was first published didn’t have time to review properly so wanted to come back and leave my thoughts. This really was a great chapter and I enjoyed hearing from Madame Giry again. I love how all the imagery associated with her is reminiscent of ballet and dance it really creates a sense of a well rounded character & realised thoughts. I loved the imagery of the dancing snow. She also has a very keen sense about how Erik and Christine will be feeling I find her point of you view the most neutral voice in the story. Although of course she has such affection for both of our main characters. I do worry about Erik! He’ll make himself I’ll with all this stress, it’s hard to read sometimes but I think that’s because you write it so well! I liked his realisation that he can’t take a new name & build a mansion on the outskirts of Paris (Something he seems to do frequently in other stories) and that the reality will be much more complicated than that. I like how marriage hasn’t been the answer to all their problems and they’re very much the same people, This is such a realistic thing to have in a story if anything marriage can make things even more complicated and I’m really glad you are showing this! Even if the romantic in me just want to see them happy ;) Finally it was great to see you Meg have a good birthday, despite the circumstances and the cold and war. It’s always fun to hear from her and I’m intrigued to know more about her courtship with Henry. Thank you so much again, and we are looking forward to seeing what’s next. :) |
![]() ![]() I don’t often comment on fics, but this has moved me so much I wanted to tell you how amazing it is and how brilliant you are. I want them so much to happy and the war to be over. Thanks once more and I’m so excited to see what is next |
![]() ![]() Bravo! This was a great update. No matter the wait I’ll always be here to read and enjoy this story :) |
![]() ![]() Oh Erik! What shall we do with you! He’s stressing me out! Thanks for update I liked the chapter a lot. You always put a different spin on things then other fics, usually E and C are all loved up the morning after marriage, and I know they love each other here but it’s more realistic this way with them both freaking out a bit. Thank you again and I hope you can continue soon x |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was a really lovely chapter! I loved reading from Mme G’s pov and the setting of the snow dancing as she was thinking was really powerful imagery. I liked seeing a bit of the Girys alone and that lovely mother daughter relationship, it was very touching. After that rather peaceful opening, it was strange to be jolted into the tumultuous head of Erik! Really cleverly done! Madame Giry was right in thinking he’d have his own way to interpret the meaning of marriage - this was a perfect continuation from the last chapter and I liked getting to see deeper into his thought process. I feel tension blooming as he and Christine are once again in different places on this issue, he wants it all and he wants it now. And Christine is doing all she can to avoid the topic. I’m intrigued to see what he was up to all day and what is in store next for them. Also, beautiful chapter title and I loved the imagery of lovers only ever living in the present, such a bittersweet thought. This chapter was a marvellous addition to the saga, thank you :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I enjoyed seeing a bit of Madame Giry's backstory here, for I came into this saga midway through and never have gone back to read it all. Some day. Loved the line about how they'd never had their own tomorrow. Erik's rage over the house plans seems extreme-he has so much bottled up inside, the music, the architecture, his desires, the war. Christine is such a steady character here, calming and holding him up. They all feel so aged from the war and deprivation. Meg's hug was understandable. It might have been only a day but it's a lifetime change. I hope Erik's quest is successful and that he doesn't get into any trouble! Glad to see an update! Always a delight to find another chapter in this story. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() So glad you're back and continuing this wonderful story. Peace at last for them all perhaps. I was saddened by the way he turned his plans for the dream house into a pulp. Look forward to finding out what his solution is. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you so much for keeping the updates going. I can't put into words how much your work has inspired and been a comfort to me over all these years. I don't care how long the wait period is between updates, you take your time and in the mean time I'll just reread A Solo for the Living over again for the 4th time because it's just that good. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Happy you are all right. Happy for the update. I hope you won't have to stay away so long for the next chapter. I hope the ladies will learn to appreciate Erik's desire to be responsible and a good husband. I have faith in him. |
