I don't understand the positive reviews. Silent casting is learned by Hogwarts students, all competent wizards know it. He's a 5th year so silent casting now is not that impressive and is certainly not an indication of power. Neither Harry nor Bella are interesting characters. It could be that the start was too abrupt. There's no build up or hints, just BAAM! Harry is an edgelord and Bella is a poor victim.
