Most of the story is decent, but this ending comes right the fuck out of nowhere. Like, no offense, but if this was the only way you could think of doing it I'm disappointed in your lack of imagination. Those cliché endings you hated would have fit better than this out of nowhere fucktwist.

This has been an interesting take on a no-Eva AU and I'm enjoying this story so far. The criticism your getting of Shinji being OOC is crap, since it's a version who is 7 years older and had a girlfriend during that time (the kind of Eva fans that freak out over every bit of characterization are annoying).

I do wonder though, with Mana manipulating Shinji into a job he didn't really want (in Japan, quitting is almost non-existent with blacklisting being very common), the implications that she did nothing when he was being bullied (beat up several times) and neglected to help him make friends, are we supposed to feel any sympathy for her? Because she seems like a disgusting person who intentionally let him suffer. If she really loved him, she would have intervened and helped him with those problems.

Wow, this was a lot better than I expected going into it! Usually I like my Eva fanfictions to still have... the Evas, but I felt like you kept some of the world's identity in spite of all the changes. I greatly enjoyed what you did with the characters, and I really felt myself invested in their relationships. As for that ending, holy cow. Shocking, powerful, and beautiful. Thanks for writing such an awesome story

Well not sure how much this matters as this is a very old story, but I found it to be good. I check reviews and try not to spoil myself to see how the reception is to the story and it seems like people either loved or hated this one. I gotta say I'm neutral. I didn't hate it but Idk I feel like it leaves something to be desired and that might be just me.

You did well in capturing everything fucked up (in a good way) about Evangelion the series itself and it's characters all their flaws and their mental hang ups, even to a frustrating degree. Did good with character development on the main cast and fleshing them out. The story flowed well and made sense, and even your scene setting got better toward the end of the story. Your alterations to the characters makes sense given the way the plot unfolds, this is all around a good piece of writing. It's deep, dark, funny, sad, and pretty much again like I said, good at capturing everything about the series except altered to fit your narrative.

Much respect to you carrying out your vision and finishing this story the way you wanted. The ending, is fitting I guess. It wraps it all up in the way that can be seen as happy to some and frustrating (possibly extremely so) to others. I imagine many were hoping for a happy ending but this is Evangelion after all. All in all you did what you wanted to do, went where you wanted to go, and I think you did a good job doing it. It held my interest and I had no plans to end up reading this whole thing, but at points just could not stop. Kudos and thanks for the amazing story.

Misato is such a worthless whore, isn't she? The disgust I feel for her is only rivaled by the disgust I feel for Shinji - for not breaking up with her as soon as he learned the news.

I can only imagine how much of a fucking fool Shinji is feeling here. To have his whore of a girlfriend cheat on him with the same guy who already humiliated him in chapter 8...gruesome.

Anway Shinji has trust issues, his trust was broken. Even harder than what Mana did to him, and he comes out jack free, so does misato, what a whore and what a cuck, Shinji got character assassinated. Also she feels like no guilt at all for cheating on Shinji, this is legit character assassination. The Asuka arc went nowhere, I think the author just wanted to kill/end the story and chose the easy way out. By also using a cheap "dramatic" moment of Misato cheating on Shinji, which falls flat because it's barley touched open. THE AUTHOR IS LAZY

So the Asuka "arc" just dies off, I have a genius idea, the fic is called "True Love Waits" what if the author does a complete 180*. and turns it into an Asuka x Shinji fic, would have pissed some people off, but it might have been a better ending honestly.

This chapter ruined it for me... Misato might be even worse than Mana, at least from what the reader knows, Mana didn't cheat on him, even if Misato was drunk, that's not a god damn excuse. This is some mega BS, Shinji has 𝑴𝑨𝑱𝑶𝑹 𝑴𝑨𝑱𝑶𝑹 𝑴𝑨𝑱𝑶𝑹 trust issues, his first gf (of 5 or 6 years no less), was sent to spy on him, and keep tabs on him, and record every subtle move he did. Shinji's main problem in this story has been trust, and his new lover, 𝑩𝑹𝑶𝑲𝑬 𝑻𝑯𝑨𝑻 𝑻𝑹𝑼𝑺𝑻 𝑾𝑰𝑻𝑯 𝑴𝑶𝑹𝑬 𝑷𝑶𝑾𝑬𝑹 𝑻𝑯𝑨𝑵 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑺𝑼𝑵 𝑬𝑿𝑷𝑳𝑶𝑫𝑰𝑵𝑮, 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑨𝑪𝑻𝑬𝑹 𝑾𝑰𝑻𝑯 𝑰𝑵𝑺𝑨𝑵𝑬 𝑴𝑨𝑱𝑶𝑹 𝑻𝑹𝑼𝑺𝑻 𝑰𝑺𝑺𝑼𝑬𝑺 𝑫𝑶𝑺𝑬𝑵"𝑻 𝑮𝑰𝑽𝑬 𝑨 𝑫𝑨𝑴𝑵. Although I guess it doesn't matter, cause they all die in the end : ) i'm no writer, but I would give my characters more respect, I think Shinji should have broken up with her, then she comes crawling back, and then they all die :). This is why I don't enjoy Shinji x Misato, Misato is a big handful, especially for someone like Shinji (at least when he's 14 in normal fics) which brings me onto another point of BS, Shinji should be able to control his emotions/have more confidence. He had a gf for at least 6 years? even if that was "fake" this isn't the super shy 14 year old, so this fic is has some major BS, Shinji just seems to be mainly a copy past from the og series, with some more flair.
