Hoorah an update! I reread both stories in the process of reading this chapter, because I wanted to make sure I knew what was going on, or this review would have been earlier.

I adore your characterization of Hiei and Kurama's relationship, and your characterization of basically everybody. (I happen to adore Draco normally, because I'm somewhat of a diehard Harry/Draco shipper, and your Draco is kind of a bitch, but that's not exactly illegitimate, given how bitchy he is in canon and how key his bitchiness is for your plot. Basically I'm saying the fact that I don't enjoy him isn't a complaint.)

All in all, I can't wait for the next chapter, and I hope it'll be soon enough that I won't feel it necessary to reread the whole thing to catch up (not to put any pressure on or be anything like those who demand you give up your life to finish this story).

yay! Another awesome chapter! I have been checking to see if there was a new chapter nearly once a day for a couple of weeks. I knew one was coming! I cannot wait to read it a few more times to try and divine what is going to happen. (not that it ever works) I love how much the last scene really tells. It seems to speak volumes about the subtly changed nature of their relationship. Kurama getting himself involved with hiei's personal matters, and hiei's agreement to work with him despite kurama's unclear motives. Big step fo' demons. love it.3 Also, super excited about the ball!

First things first: *obligatory new-chapter squee and happy-dance*

Ahem. Yes. I have been following this story and its prequel for a number of years and it remains one of the best, most fun Harry Potter crossovers I have seen. Seeing new chapters for it, no matter how few and far between they may be (you have a life and I respect and understand that), invariably puts a smile on my face and my mouse clicking on the link.

I love the idea of portrait plays as the Wizarding equivalent of movies, and these lines made me giggle furiously:

"The canvas showed a cartoon-style man in powder-blue tails and matching woman's hat, brandishing a pink lawn flamingo and striking a heroic pose.

Wizards really did have weird ideas about Muggles."

Also, Hiei's soul being a desert and Yukina and Kurama being worried about it is interesting. Very interesting. ...I need a Persian cat to stroke while I say that. :D (Wow, I fail at evil-grin-emotes. XD)

I was entertained, too, by Kurama's botanical version of smelling salts. Was that a miniature corpse flower or a different stinking flower? Or maybe some sort of Makai flower? Whatever it is, I'm glad I'm not Hiei.

Ya know, somehow I cant feel that the short meeting with Daphne and Kurama cant be more than a simple trade between classmates. I forsee something coming from this... a relationship.. never. but definitely something helpful.

I love this story. I've read it multiple times over the years, and I have to say that I absolutely love you for continuing to update. I don't care how long we have to wait between chapters, as long as I know that there is one coming.

I love the character interactions and the amount of cultural detail you put into the story. There arn't many authors who are willing to look up as many things as you just to get the details right.

While I am a bit of a fangirl going "More KxH! More KxH!" I'm very happy with the amount of depth you've given their characters and how realistically they interact.

This chapter was amusing with how the slytherins interact, and I am definitely looking forward to the masquerade.

You updated! :D :D I hadn't really thought about the desert being odd. It made sense to me in a way because in Yukina's mind there are the piles of snow, and fire isn't exactly stable. The shifting desert carries the heat of fire, just not the insubstantial nature of it. I look forward as always to seeing where you will go with this. :)
