It's called Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy.

This is an excellent story although arsenic poisoning effects are so commonly well known that they should have been picked up long ago. Maybe not when Blair was really small but when he was ten to twelve and in his teens, yes. Now of course, it should be picked up very soon really, in spite of his background if the doctor is paying attention.

This story highlights an all too real problem and does it well! :)

Liked your story. Read about several cases where mothers did this. God how spooking and horrible can you get. That is the mother in me of 2 kids I would never harm that way.

Wow.

Munchausen's by Proxy is a terrifying disease. The (usually) mother actually really *does* love the child that she is torturing. She doesn't really see it as hurting the child, since she provides the love and comfort.

Poor Blair.
