| Rachel Smith Cobleigh chapter 4 . 7/21/2014 I liked how you didn't force Inara to be anything less than herself to be with Mal. It would be a difficult sort of relationship, but it's very open-eyed and unflinching. I'm not sure I buy the idea of Mal being content with such an arrangement, but it's nice to see that someone has tackled it and has taken Inara's profession and identity seriously, not just sweeping it under the carpet. Good narrative structure, although the sex scene felt oddly rushed and not really set up well, but I liked Mal's line as he began it. Very nice job conveying the skin-crawling nature of the two agents, and a clever plot to shake them from the Tams' tail, at least for now. Nice reuse of the Lassiter. :) thanks for writing and sharing this story! |
