![]() ![]() ![]() We're speechless. We're very fond of the Okita-Kenshin friendship idea, and we love how you've written this, their interactions and everything. Your characterisations are so perfect it's wonderful, the imagery was so effecting (the cranes..really liked that) we could see it all playing out in our heads. We were so drawn into the world! Kenshin remembering Hiko's words was a nice touch, and how it was the reason he went to save Okita...the bit where he was trailing him to make sure he made it to Shinsengumi headquarters was so touching our eyes got teary! Really really enjoyed this. |
![]() ![]() Oh my goodness! A lovely tale on Kenshin & Okita. It figures those two are very similiar. They could've been best friends if it weren't for the fact they were enemies to start with. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That's the thing I hated most about the Kenshin movie... in reality, Okita was Saitoh's boss. |
![]() ![]() I don't believe Okita's style used the err...Gatotsu was it? The OVA had Okita use a different style than Saitou. The gatotsu could have been a purely Shinsengumi technique though, I guess, though we didn't see Okita use it against his duel with Kenshin. We only see Saitou using it... chickens of doom will rule the world! |
![]() ![]() ![]() "The stews"? Is it the place where all the undesireables are thrown in together like a giant tofu-and-week-old-beef stew from hell? Another nice one-shot. I quite enjoy these short stories-you don't have to spend a week reading them :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() -blinks- Wow. What description in this oneshot! Your fight scene was very well done, and now Okita reminds me a lot of Sou (actually, he looks like him with shorter hair...). I also had to laugh when imagining Kenshin thinking 'happy thoughts' when trouble was near. Just imagining the feared Hitokiri Battousai thinking about flowers in a grassy field and bunny rabbits made me giggle. And thanks for reading another one of my stories. I really appreciate it! ~*Lynn*~ |
![]() ![]() ![]() i love this story so, so much. i've always liked Okita, and this is a very interesting situation... i'd like to see how Kenshin and he would interact. maybe i would've enjoyed reading a longer conversation between the two in this, but it makes sense that they wouldn't talk for long. heh. fantastic work! |
![]() ![]() This really reminded me of one of my favorite fanfics that I don't recall the name of off the top of my head. Kenshin and Okita have a run-in, and Kenshin helps the Shinsengumi captain out in much the way he has in here. There are too few good Kenshin-and-Okita run-ins out there, and I really enjoyed this one! Your battle scene was really good. I could really follow Kenshin and his attackers' movements. My favorite line? "I'd love to see Saitou's face if you marched into headquarters with me..." Ha! Love it! I can *so* picture that! The only thing I was confused about was the part where you mentioned that Kenshin was escorting someone, then he ditched the guy to follow Okita. Did the guy make it home okay? Anyway, I loved this "pointless one-shot", especially since it featured a chance meeting between Kenshin and Okita. I love those! Have a *great* week, ja ne! |
![]() ![]() ![]() “…throwing the narrow streets into shadow, deepened in the dark of twilight. Soon it would be completely dark.” This line effectively creates a somber atmosphere for the story. Excellent opening. |
![]() ![]() ![]() A very interesting short story. This is very well done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hey! It's been a long time since I've been on -.-' Lots of ppl hate me now because of it anyway, I liked this one, i liked it a LOT. Not too many ppl can capture the charater of Okita because of what little mention of him from the series. But once again, you've done it. Only one small problem...Okita doesn't call Saitoh "master"! I know you must've read about it or heard it somewhere, but officially, Okita never entitled saitoh of a higher rank. They were of the same. Heck! Okita was even the first squad leader, Saitoh was only the third. (Thought it doesn't mean much but just pointing it out). Don't worry though, even that mistake isn't even to ruin the story...heck, i don't think any mistake could mess up ur fics T-T |
![]() ![]() ![]() And once again you turn out an absolutely beautiful piece of work! I certain I'm not alone when I say that if you want to keep turning out one shots, I for one will not mind in the least. Your imagery is incredible and your characterizations are accurate as always. I absolutely love the fact that you put Kenshin and Okita working together in this fic. It must've been quite a surprise to Okita to find that Battosai had saved his life! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very good. I'm very imprssed. Most people mutilate the Kenshin universe, but you did an excellent job here. Okita is my favorite of the Shinsengumi, Kenshin is cool, action is appreciated, all rolled together with a bunch of pseudo-history. All in all, happiness to me. See ya. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You really are pumping out these excellent one shot stories. This is a fine addition to the stories where both of sides of the war come to an understanding. You wrote well realized sketches of both Battosuai and Okita and the action was written so that it was easy to visualize. I loved the line, "The dance of death had its own music, and it played on in the darkness behind the Gion District lights and gaiety." Good stuff! |
![]() ![]() MWahaha! Awesome, I like these one-shot stories of yours! *hug* Great job! ~Kasi. |
