| Artemis Ignitan chapter 16 . 7/1/2007 Wow, this chapter was totally worth waiting for! It's like the eager awaiting of a sequel to a well-known series. It's all worth it. Now I really wonder what kind of man Cypress was. I feel my opinion of him slowly changing... | Shandy chapter 16 . 7/1/2007 *dies of happiness* Oh, those last two paragraphs? I’d been waiting to read them for the ENTIRE STORY. The closest Ash has ever – or may ever – come to ‘confessing’ and affirming his feelings for her. And he kissed her without the coaxing! Oh how my little pokeshippy heart beat. And the way he managed to fluster HER for a change – “I know you’re as worried as I am. The way your face is set gives it away” – amused me to no end. It was nice to see him psycho-analysing her for a change, instead of the other way around. Oh dear, I’m reviewing backwards all of a sudden. Let me go back to the beginning. Can't be without my chronological reviews! “What were you trying to do, set us up?” “Is it working?” -blush- Ha ha! I really like Drake. He knows how to good n’ fluster his nephew all right. Maybe he’s Ash’s Brock in that sense. It was really disturbing to read those little teasing hints about Cypress’ and Delia’s fate through his eyes… “… see Cypress there in his office with him, looking at him like that, just like he had when Delia had finally gotten to him, when Sam Oak brought the world crashing down on his thick head, when he was lost and confused and Drake had tried to help him...” *shudder* I hate to think what happened that night. Gary is truly a bastard. It was interesting to see through his eyes for a change, but really, there’s just nothing good left in that boy at all, if there ever was to begin with (though donating his wages to his grandfather did give me pause). But really, his perspective was really convincing, all the little details that made Gary *Gary*, like using “half-breed” instead of “Ash”, all the sneers and arrogance. Not the best negotiator in the world, is he? Poor Ash. I love the way you describe Ash with “one leg curled so he could wrap an arm around it and lean his chin on his knee.” It’s funny, he changes so much depending on which character he’s interacting with. With Misty he is just like that – all vunerable and shy, a blushing boy, yet with Gary he’s all cool and commanding, even a little fiery (“Is that a threat?” “I damn well hope so”) and then again with Drake he’s something entirely different. I thought it was incredibly sweet that he was trying so hard to make him and Misty work by asking how their parents managed. But like Gary said… trouble in paradise, or else there very soon will be, judging by his calculating last thought. Last thought – you really like your Snorlax idioms, don’t you? Thankyou so much for this. I’m thrilled it’s not dead and ‘nevah’ will be! By the by, where were the ANs? I kinda missed them! And err… did you say something about OYL? *nudge nudge* *slinks away* |
