A simple character study that I need. The kind that make me realize there are things that need to be done if you want a change. In this case, there is Kakashi attempting to live out Obito's tardiness. Each step is showing Kakashi's emptiness, yet also enjoyment of living out his new identity (his excuses are getting hilarous). This kind of story is the background story that you don't think it's necessary until it shoves under your nose.
It's been fifteen years since the story had been publised but still, thank you for the story.

The creativity of a terrible excuse never fails to impress. I like this one, equal parts amusing and serious in the undertones of why Kakashi develops his knack for lateness. It's a great, short read, thanks for sharing it!

This is one of my favourite one-shots. I can't remember if I've commented on this before, but as I finished rereading this (once again), I decided it didn't matter.

I love this story. I love the funny excuses, the way he shifts between staring at the wall frozen to restlessly walking around in Konoha, and the guest appearance of his beloved book. The conversation between Kakashi and Sandaime was perfect. The plot is simple, but so so complex, and it conveys Kakashi's inner conflict in the begining perfectly. I loved his last excuse to the Sandaime about "changing is image", and how it represents the change in Kakashi. But most of all, I loved the bittersweet ending. It breaks my heart every time.
