| Tinker1310 chapter 26 . 7/16
I just wanted to say that as someone whose mind can get pretty awfully dark, and who has always struggled with sex and sex related things/relationships, you did a really good job at writing this chapter x
| lostFan chapter 1 . 6/14
Kate is so Out Of Character here.
A real romance between Sawyer and Kate clearly never existed in the show, this is an AU fiction, isn't it?
They just don't fit, don't belong together.
| Guest chapter 1 . 5/23
Kate never loved Sawyer more then herself, more than Jack.
She couldn't help falling in love with Jack,in spite of all our differences and issues.
Any possible future affair between Sawyer and Kate after the end is absolutely unreal.
Sawyer was second rate formerly.

Loved both In Hiding and On the Road!
What is there to say? You are an amazing writer and your story was incredible. That was an alternative I would have loved to see on screen.
The most amazing part was that I could actually hear Sawyer and Kate saying those words and I could see him making all those catacteristic gestures and grimaces of his that we all love
You are very talented, don't stop writing! !
| Misty753 chapter 40 . 8/19/2015
After so many years, I came back...and oh, these novels (because that is what they are) are still absolutely gold. Thank you for writing them, Leah Kate.
| Guest chapter 40 . 5/8/2015
I read both parts all the way through (I don't usually stop to review along the way). Wonderful. I'm a Skate girl all the way so I loved your story. You are a very talented writer with lots of good ideas and imagination and the ability to draw us readers into your world. Great job and please keep writing.
P.S. Thank you for Meg being alive.

Here’s another very late reviewer! Though it’s been over ten years, I recently started watching Lost and as soon as I finished the second season, I started looking up some fanfiction. I’m incredibly happy I found yours right away, and I reckon they’ll stay unrivaled for long. First off, you are utterly talented in narrating your story without it ever, EVER growing boring; there’s the perfect amount of analysis, description, dialogue. Secondly, your characterization blew me away. You even imitated Sawyer’s delicious sarcasm to a t. The psychological analysis, in particular, was so on point and beautifully written it actually helped me understand the very characters in the show, and I’ll keep it in mind as I watch the next four seasons.
In short, I became so involved in these two fics, I read day and night and I plowed through them in two days.
For once in my life, I even enjoyed the OCs. Dear old aunt Meg is a force of nature! You have no idea how relieved I felt upon finding she made it after all.
I know it’s probably too late to hope for that sequel and you might not even read this, but if you ever decided to write anything more, I’d be elated. In any case, this has been one hell of a ride, and I enjoyed every second of it. Thanks for taking the time to write all this, it made me very happy :D

You don't know how many horrible things in my life that this story has got me through. I grew up in an abusive house and with the belief that I was fcked from the start. Sometimes reading this made me think I wasnt. It made me want more out of people and myself, made me wanna find someone worth loving and learn to trust myself so I could eventually trust them. I know it sounds over the top but this honestly touched my life. Thank you for writing something so beautiful and honest and stunningly human. I know it's been nearly 10 years since you last updated but I still hold out hope that you might update, even just a one chapter little sneak peak at their life with the baby. Maybe someday :) thank you for everything xxx

I just read "In Hiding" and this story, love how you wrote everyone. I really loved how you integrated Jack, Charlie, and Claire. I really loved Aunt Meg and I'm glad she lived at the end. While I loved the ending, I almost wish there had been an epilogue about the baby, either many years down the road or just a cute out take.
Loved this story and your depiction of Kate and Sawyer.
| Readergirl24 chapter 40 . 5/3/2014
OK. UM. Where to start? Well firstly, THAT WAS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I'VE EVR READ IN MY ENTIR DAMN LIFE. Seriously, I don't even know what to say! That was AMAZING BEAUTIFUL ROMANTIC DRAMATIC SWEET CUTE SAD EPIC SKATEY AND OH MY GOSH WOW. You're such a talented writer, when I read the fanfic I actually felt like I was there inthe story, your two fanfics were much better then lots of books I've read. THEY SHOULD MAKE THIS INTO A FILM AND YEAH ok so basically I loved in hiding and on the road I may just have to read them all again AND I CRIED WHEN TH DOG DIED IN THE FIRST ONE and the romantic scenes are written so well and yes the entire fanfic is perfection and sawyer and Kate are so in character IT'S AMAZING xx
| Dar Jo chapter 40 . 7/18/2013
It's 2013, but I just got around to watching LOST and was extremely disappointed with the way Skate was handled in the last couple seasons. They had so much wasted potential, and so I went searching for post-series Skate fanfics to quench my dissatisfaction. IH wasn't what I was looking for at all, but I'm so glad to have stumbled upon it because IH and On the Road are the best pieces of fanfiction I have ever read. What impressed me the most as a Skater is how well you embodied the depth of soul connection in Sawyer and Kate's relationship, and it hurts in the sense that this is basically what could have been. I like to imagine that it's what would have been given the change of storyline with the raft. Oh and just as a plain reader, I am still beyond impressed. The writing style, the characterization, the plotline, the additional characters (Aunt freakin' Meg), THE DIALOGUE-gah, everything is perfect! I don't know where you are now, several years later, but wherever you are I hope you're still writing, because you have a gift.
| Living Again chapter 1 . 7/9/2013
WOW. First of all, your writing style is incredible - I can see everything that's going on and you're descriptive enough where you give just the right amount of details at the right time, but also leave it up to the reader to see in their minds what everything looks like. I'm a huge Sawyer fan, and you got him spot-on. I loved the sarcasm and flirtatious attitue; my favorite part was when he said, "That's assuming the kind of people who steal from salvage yards know how to read." I kid you not, I laughed outloud.
Also loved the part about Sawyer thinking, "So much for rehabilitation."
Already starting on chapter two. I know this has been completed for years, but it's amazing.
| Phoenix-2012 chapter 1 . 7/19/2012
hey Leah Kate,
I know, u probably wrote these fics years ago, but I read them just recently. Actually finished reading IH and On the road, just yesterday. I have got to tell you, you are a fantastic writer! :) I finished watching Lost and am a complete 'Skater'! So I loved your fics, the descriptions, the treatment of the characters, everything! I read your response to someone saying that you wanted to be a writer? I hope you are already on your to that! Once again, lovely stories!
| Phoenix12 chapter 40 . 7/18/2012
Hey Leah Kate,
I am probably years late. I read your fics in the past two weeks and goot to hand it to you, you have done a great job! i read in one of your answers to someone's question that you wanted to write for a living.. you sure got one hell of a future there! Just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed your fics a lot! Thanks! :)
| DamselOnDrums chapter 40 . 3/17/2011
I don't think words can describe how much I love these two stories, and my words certainly cannot do justice. I think I've laughed, cried, and been moved more by this story than just about every other book I've read. The character development, the growth, certainly the irony, and the unexpected twists and turns made me sit on my ass for an entire week, plowing through both 'In Hiding' and 'On the Road'. I've reccomended it to my avid Lost fans of best friends. I know it would be a stretch, no matter how you look at it, but a short sequal or epilouge would be amazing.
You've seriously lifted my spirits since the series ended on that crappy note. This is so in character and believable that I feel that it would have made a nice addition to the show. Baby Ford would be the best hard-ass the world has ever known.
In short, this is probably my favorite Fanfiction ever. Simply amazing. I would love to read any other work of yours, if you would consider coming out of retirement.
