| HappierThanMost chapter 1 . 10/27/2016
There are not enough compliments that would express how much I love your writing, your style, the scene you set. Two things that left me hurting: poor Two Bit and his sweater. Such a small detail that leapt from the story and punched me in the gut. And then, Darry wanting to kick out a window because it was so sunny on such a day as that. I know this feeling all too well. Your kind of depth isn't found often. Impressive

Hi, I read this a while ago and forgot to leave a review - I like to write reviews, especially for stories as good as this. It's extremely well written. You capture Darry in a light that I've always imagined him - the way he keeps things for their sentiment, the way he tries to stay numb with his emotions. I particularly like the ending;
"Darry doesn't know what to do, what to say, so he freezes into solid ice in the heavy August heat, while his little brother breaks down into the old flat pillow Soda used to sleep on.
The cat blinks slowly, and its eyes are green.
What the hell kind of life is this?"
You can feel the raw pain behind their emotion, and their actions. It's sad, but in an interesting sort of way. It leaves you thinking about how they're supposed to move on from this.
In short, I just wanted to tell you that you're an amazing writer. Keep your head high, and write to your hearts desire!

So who died? Soda and Cherry? How? What?
| Marionette chapter 1 . 6/28/2010
utterly hopeless, and yet strangely beautiful. i loved it.
| The North Wyn chapter 1 . 6/17/2010
*cries* A very well-written and extremely angsty piece! I like that you don't actually find out who dies (although you guess), until the end. I am very fond of Darry and like that you've used him as the narrator. I also like the way you've portrayed his love for Ponyboy, especially the line about them always saying "I love you" to eachother. Great job!
| Bronxxxy chapter 1 . 11/14/2008
I just have to say, yes, I loved it. It was amazingly well written.
But the title is the thing that I fell in love with. I don't know why but the first thing I thought of Tennessee and Indie bands. I don't know. I got chills when I read the title. Thank you for writing this.
| Melissa chapter 1 . 1/17/2008
Wow, this was so sad and so well-written. I loved the analogy of Darry to flypaper. And the deaths, always in pairs. Excellent one-shot.
| xXFlowerxChildXx chapter 1 . 11/5/2007
wow. i was so going to cry. you have major talent.
| PEACE.LOVE.MUSIC chapter 1 . 10/23/2007
I'm trying to think of the right words to express just how well written this was, but nothing comes to mind. It was amazing, I loved that there was no known narrarator and I loved all the descriptions. This was truely amazing.
| stereochick chapter 1 . 6/11/2007
Great story. Real good job.
| blue-oyster-cult-love chapter 1 . 7/15/2006

| Artemis Rex chapter 1 . 7/15/2006
This is excellently written. I really enjoyed it. This POV is very difficult to do well, but you pull it off very well.
| Scarlett7 chapter 1 . 2/23/2006
You have a really remarkable talent for writing. I hope you know that! What a beautifully descriptive and powerful story. Even the title is creative. Fabulous work.
| Quillwriter chapter 1 . 1/14/2006
One of the things I most like about this it the judicious lack of detail as to what happened to Cherry or Soda. It doesn't matter. What matters is what it does to those who are left. You've shown how helpless Darry feels without ever saying it.
"Bad stuff sticks to Darry like Flypaper."
"Death follows them like a stray cat. Mom said don't feed it, you'll only make it come back again and again."
Simple imagery, yet effective because it's what Darry knows, and that makes it easy to see how he views the world and himself.

You are a fantastic writer. Fics like this are few and far between in the Outsiders fandom and I look forward to reading more of your work. Keep it up!
