| ss chapter 1 . 10/4/2017
honestly if I had to pick my single absolute most favorite fic in the entire fma archive, it would be this one. I keep coming back to reread it over and over again and it's gotten to the point where I have some passages so familiar that they're half memorized and it feels like coming back home every time I open this up. I wish I could favorite it again every time I read it but since that's not possible, at least here's another review and my eternal thanks for this one
| Jimelda chapter 1 . 6/30/2017
Ahhhhh this is so good! Fics that explore Ed's eating habits always fascinate me, and I especially love how you've handled the whole topic here. Everything about this fic is so on point and I really enjoyed reading it!
| helegg chapter 1 . 3/29/2017
I really enjoyed this story; this might be my favorite FMA oneshot so far. Typically, oneshots don't convey plot development as well as multichapter stories do, but you did it very well! (granted, this is a rather long oneshot lol) Thanks for writing!
| ashika pl chapter 1 . 1/17/2017
I loved it. Especially I love how you remember all the - er - constraints? (not a native, me, not sure it's a right word) poor Al has to deal with. Love also the fact that you remembered about the automail - it has to take a lot of energy out of body. And generally - very impressive work you did here :)
| BloodiedCoreOfHope chapter 1 . 5/30/2016
oh wow. just... wow. this is incredibly beautiful! For all the times that it's awkwardly worded... this as managed to convey an amazing amount of emotion and realism for what it is.
I really love this...
| chickens chapter 1 . 4/6/2016
That was awesome! I love the idea of Al being affected by Ed's waning strength.
| Attackoneverything chapter 1 . 4/1/2016
This could be more than a one-shot *Hint-Hint*
But it's still brillant alone XD
| Vitlium chapter 1 . 2/28/2016
This story is true though Ed is eating and sleeping for Al if Ed died *realizes something* Oh God if Ed ever died in the show Al would to he's the only one keeping Al's body alive
| LeChick chapter 1 . 2/7/2016
This was tense, in character, and just plain good
| jadeblackheart4 chapter 1 . 11/19/2015
WHY IS THERE NOT MORE!IS THERE GOING TO BE ANOTHER CHAPTER! AHHHHHHH I CANT WAIT!
| xBookEaterx chapter 1 . 2/20/2015
This was awesome! I was looking for a fic like this :D
| aquariTerrible chapter 1 . 10/20/2014
that was a really well written fic! I really like that you expanded on the amount of food and sleep Ed needs in such a way! and adding that bit in with Al getting dizzy! Once that came up my heart really jumped.
You are great at the characterization of everyone as far as i could say, it read smoothly and i could really see it play out at times like an episode if the show.
thank you very much for sharing it and working so hard on it!
| kiragecko chapter 1 . 4/17/2014
This is my first Fullmetal Alchemist fic. It is amazing and heartbreaking. I am quite upset because I was hoping to read a few sentences, realize it wasn't for me, and then go on and read the other 20 fics I've had recced to me. I don't want to become a fan of this series. So, I was kind of a hostile audience, but you won me over completely. Thank you very much for writing this.
| karl1n chapter 1 . 4/8/2014
This is awesome
| ThreeKittiesDancing chapter 1 . 1/15/2014
Well, even if this story was written back in 2005, this is so good, it deserves a review. You did an excellent job with this story, the way you wove everything together, kept everyone in character, and something I'm always grateful for in fanfics, you can spell and you know your grammar! What a treat! How did you feel when the manga progressed enough for you to find out your theory in this story was correct? Very few people write FMA fics about this subject even today, now that the manga has been completed for several years, but for you to make it the crux of your story nine years ago is amazing. Your perception back then was to everyone else's benefit, because we got to read your wonderfully gripping and heartfelt story.
I do have to tell you, all through reading it, all I could think of was that I wanted Col. Mustang horsewhipped for how he treated poor Ed, even before his calous behavior and ignorance almost led to Ed, and by extension, Al's deaths by starvation. How he could treat a teenaged boy, that he was responsible for bringing into the military in the first place, so harshly was unforgivable! The unit's physician may have been ignorant of young Major Elric's automail, but Mustang sure wasn't. Even if he was stupid and thoughtless enough not to know how automail functions, that it places an enormous energy drain on the bearer, he should've at least realized how badly prolonged exposure to the frigid cold would affect a person with steel attached to theîr body. He deserves to have steel rods strapped to his body for the remainder of their mission up north, as part of some impromptu sensitivity training! (Enjoy your frostbite Roy, you jerk!)
Well, thankfully, there was a lot of great brotherly bonding between Ed and Al towards the end of the story to make up for the abusiveness beforehand. I needed that. I hope that from then on, Al had a kinder regard for his big brother, rather than acting a bit condescending towards him, siding with Mustang against him, and not standing up for just how much harder life is for Ed, compared to others. Al really does owe his existence to Edward in more ways than one. He'd better start looking out for Edward better, if he knows what's good for him.
