A great story. Very well written.
| LadyMoriel chapter 1 . 1/9/2006
I don't really know what to say about this, except that I like it a lot, and I agree heartily with Banui. And your saying "Hop along, my hearties" put me in mind of pirates rather than Tom, which was slightly disturbing. _
| Celebel chapter 1 . 12/10/2005
i found it *winks* i love it! i never did picture Tom as "gathering moss" so to speak-he seemed much to alive to do that.
do post this on TORC. :)
| AMAPADME chapter 1 . 12/9/2005
That was nice reflection on Tom.
| Maidenhair chapter 1 . 12/7/2005
Ah, this was short but very good!
| phantasmagorienne chapter 1 . 12/6/2005
Firstly: You are my hero for using T.S. Eliot. Yes indeed. Secondly: I have gained a special place in my heart for drabbles as of late; the good ones read like a sort of prose-poem, which this one certainly does! This is such an odd, fitting exursion into Tom's mind (a place where fandom rarely treads)-it paints a very beautiful, fleeting picture of Tom as something greater than a funny old man who sings queer rhyming songs and wears yellow boots.
(And I always find it very adorable when characters such as Treebeard and Tom Bombadil refer to Gandalf as "young". -)
