Am going down the list of VS poems and stories feeling more and more depressed as I go :( beautiful. That's exactly how she would have felt. I've read the book and seen the film and I loved both, even though the film left afew things out. Just one thing though, you left out the card she had clasped in her hands of the Virgin Mary. (I think it was her...? Or was it one of the saints that died a virgin? I cannot remember exactly... apologies.) That could have been an interesting symbolic route to follow up, to die in the arms of the Virgin. Be reunited with her? Who knows. But the Saint aside, this was a beautifully written poem, Cecilia's disjointed thoughts flowing perfectly in her disillusioned way.
