Just finished capt 12. I know this probably isn't the right "spot" to comment, but you are fabulous
| mrl148 chapter 9 . 5/24/2006
Far be it from to to suggest any "improvements" to this loving, heartwarming, sensitive story I am so thankful to have at my pleasure. This is a true gift and a much needed calming to a "sad heart"
Many, many thanks...

I resisted fanfiction for a long time, because Brokeback Mountain was so "special" to me. I read about your fanfic in and I decided to take a look. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. BBM is a special movie and many of us have taken Jack and Ennis into our hearts. Reading your words I sense that you are attracted to Jack/Jake...me too...think he's gorgeous, lol. Anyway BBM is fiction, so I don't see any harm in making Jack and Ennis happy in some other form of fiction. My only problem is that they fight too much and sometimes they don't seem to "believe" how much they each love the other. I hope in the future you can make them a little less insecure. Let Ennis get a GED...it will help his self esteem :D I know you like feedback, so I've said my piece, lol. Just for God's sake, don't let anything bad happen to them. They had enough of that crap in the movie. Thanks for your wonderful story, you've made many of us very happy. Keep up the good work.

This isn't a review of your work, I am in no way qualified to give you any advice on that subject. You are an incredible author, and I just had to register here so I could tell you how happy I am to have been touched by your work.
When I first saw the movie, I came away from the theater and told my friends and partner, "I never want to see that film again." It was just too sad, and painful. Then two days later, another friend, who had not yet seen the movie sent me the .pdf file of Annie's original short story. As I read it, chills ran up my back, and tears welled up in my eyes. I have been mildly obsessed with this phenomenon ever since. That was December 2005.
I want to thank you for now while reading your story, tears are welling up, but they are tears of joy and happiness, not tragedy and utter despair. You have turned this whole story around for me in my mind, where I can now see hope and not desperation, love not regret, happiness instead of unfulfilled longing. I have never been in a situation similar to Ennis and Jack, and can't quite understand why, why this is affecting me so deeply.
I have read every chapter, and told another friend of mine who has also been bitten by the BBM bug about your work. He told me after reading the first half of the first chapter the he was "mezmorized". I told him, just wait, it gets so good.
I have read some other BBM fanfics, some are nothing more than pornography, and I can't finish those. I know sex is an important part of the story, but it's by far not the most important part. I think Annie and Ang agreed, and I'm glad you have not gone overboard in your story.
Many, many thanks for turning Jack and Ennis into fulfilled, whole, happy gay men. We exist. We just never get to see ourselves that way.

*helpless giggle* Loving this, absolutely loving it! This flows wonderfully, the humor is inserted perfectly, and I LOVE the little tidbits you throw in at random intervals. And, not to mention the yumminess of this chapter. So far, I have found no flaws with this whole story, which is wonderful. So nice to read something without wanting to pull my hair out at all the grammatical errors.

I would like to take a moment to marvel at your prowess. This is an excellent chapter, balanced perfectly...the wonderful, very touching scene at the beginning, and then the end... I've heard from quite a few people how good this story is, and only now got around to reading it...and am enjoying it very much. Enjoying it enough to throw it and you into the favorites, as a matter of fact! I now skip off to read as much as I can before I inevitably collapse of exhaustion...

What the hell am I doing trying to make it in the writing industry with people like you there?
lol. No but seriously. This fix it really came a long way to fixing it for me. That movie ending was really depressing, but you've gotten me back to the nice fluffy feeling. Thank you!

I couldn't resist being number 600-although I sent you an e-mail. I read the story at one sitting-of nine hours. It's 6 in the morning. I posted the url to the story on most have already read it, I'm sure. Maine Writer gave it to me-I see you like her stuff as well. Yes, I always liked the way Jack and Ennis worked so well together; not surporised that they made a success out of life and productivity...I especially liked the conversations (and the chapter devoted to conversation); I guess on "fanfiction" Brokeback Mountain" you're preaching to the choir-but you preach well. The sex is very inspirational-but, as I said, I cannot successfully jack-off while sitting at my computer: IT DOES NOT WORK. WHAT IS "het"-that you wrote?
I could start in on "The Two Joy Crows"(is that its name?)-any relation to "The Two Black Crows"?-but I think I should at least pretend to get some sleep.

I contacted you already, but I thought I'd add my review here as well. Yours is one of the best fanfics I have had a pleasure to read! I love the way your story flows, I love Jack and Ennis' relationship, their love, their squabbles, their life, basically ...everything! I love that Jack and Ennis continue to mature together and continue to face/deal with their insecurities and the way others perceive their relationship. I loved their sacred 'private and impromtu wedding'. I loved the way you handled the whole Jack-Lureen-Bobby situation, it was perfect, not soapy at all! ;)
In short, it has been a pleasure reading your fanfic. I will be reading the last chapters tonight, then of to the sequel! Can't wait!
Cheers for all your work on this ... and more grease to your elbows Lori!

i just wanted to tell you how much i loved this story. it is one of my favorite bbm fan fictions. you gave them a happy ending which is what i wanted for them. i would imagine in my mind that if jack had lived they would finally have been together because ennis finally woke up and realized he couldn't live without jack. but your story surpassed all my hopes and dreams for them. i love how you write them, you totally captured their personalites and how they would be with each other. i also love their pet names for each other, even more than rodeo, cowboy and lil darlin, i absolutely love ennis calling jack baby. i am also enjoying the sequel two crows joy and will be looking forward to future installments. i also had a question. do you know why this story doesn't show up on the main page. i only found it here after i had read it on another site.
| rchglphpa chapter 25 . 4/27/2006
I read this all in one sitting, late one night, and I really enjoyed it.
You kept the feel between them so similar to what they were in the movie, it stayed realistic. I really loved your extra character developement, Lizzie, and expanding Alma and introducing the town were all interesting developments that really fed the story.
I really like that everything was NOT all fluff and roses for them, because they weren't fluff very often. BUT I have to say, your maturing Ennis pulls my heartstrings,he has such strength of character, and when he tries to change, he can actually make strides at it. I love him! Thank you for taking us to a well developed place where we can see them grow and change. Excellent fun.

Have been AWOL from for a while, came to check on this fic only to find it's done and you've started the sequel!
I honestly have so few words to desribe how great this fic is. Wow, awesome, fantastic etc.
I loved everything about it, the fact that Ennis and Jack still work at their relationship 20 years on, and that you didn't write some silly piece of fluff were everything was happy-fun-shiney. Although the lovey bits were nice as well obviously :)
I bought BBM on dvd the other day, and I noticed that when I watched it for the second time it didn't leave me feeling as torn up as when I watched it the first time. I thought about it for a while and realised that, because of HI, I could see the way the guys could have had that sweet life together,as opposed to the gut-wrenching way the story is supposed to end.
So I just wanted to say thanks for easing my broken heart and I'm off to read to the sequel!
| Panko Piskun chapter 25 . 4/16/2006
Fantasically awesome! I'd go on, but it would just be more adjectives stuffed together in an awkward display of my adoration for this story. I've spent the better part of my Sunday working my way through this one, and will now stay up later that I have any right to starting in on the sequel. MUCH LOVE!
| Jalynrn chapter 25 . 4/16/2006
I don't know how many ideas you have gotten from the reviews for wedding gifts but here's one more: that gut who made thier wedding bands should work up some kind of scuplture that depicts the shared life the two of them have. Like joined sliver wrought rope loops or something... like two lassos entwined...? Something that would be manly and yet significant to them.
Great story btwI can't wait to start reading the sequel.
| TwilightJupiter chapter 25 . 4/15/2006
Wow. Got no words. All i can say is well done. Absolutely beautiful. Cant wait to read the sequel.
