He is in really serious denial...amazing! :D

Yes! It does mean EVERYTHING! What a great moment that is. Those carefully placed mental pictures of the overworked bloody feet and the storm are well done to emphasize the meaning of it all. I'm very satisfied with the ending.
If there were ever extra time, I am in agreement that an epilogue in Seto or Anzu's point of view can tip things even more into being happy for this couple. Having been through it all, a chapter relaying that it was all worth everything and it did mean everything has a certain appeal.
Of course I am applauding your story as is and thank you for sharing.

I liked the end of this chapter. Plugging hopes for the pair only gets the reader hoping for th same.
For me, the beginning seemed a little old for Mokuba to be saying, but perhaps that's just me. I guess I see him as a little, little brother, not a well versed teen. Again that's probably just me since I am still caught on the Walt Disney Movie scene in the last chapter. Sorry! Giving his opinion of what others thought was very effective though and it helped to bolster Kaiba's character a lot since it came from the one person he does love.
Please don't get me wrong, I am really enjoying this story and think you are doing a tremendous job!

How romantic. I like the T rating and the realization of something special in this piece. Overcoming the denial is a wonderful way of building the climax. :)
I'm also glad to hear all is good with your mother and hopefully life is good again.
| fanofthisfiction chapter 6 . 10/8/2009
This was a beautiful chapter. Gathering the courage to tell Kaiba her dream(s) and having him embrace them surely is the spark that will draw them closer together.
On the home front, I hope your mother does okay with therapy and gets better. Life is precious. Know your sharing your writing means something to others. Also know life's adventures shape us to who we are and who we become. I hope love and courage stand firm in the battle ahead. I'll keep my fingers crossed all turns out well in the end.

I enjoyed this next installment. The blatant denial of feeling on Kaiba's part, really draws attention that he is really starting to feel something for Anzu. I do like the nature of flowers threaded into the "date." I read a Naruto fanfiction piece called "Three Months" that used that notion and your reference made me smile when you added that to your comments at the end.
Of course the chaste kiss was nothing short of amazing. Cold Kaiba made a move!

The Author's notes really affected me. I really wasn't one to leave comments when I first looked into fanfiction, thinking that the stories really didn't deserve my commentary. Surely writers must know their works take us to wonderful, fun places right? An author who actually responded to a review I left actually changed my point of view though. Perhaps it is good to let the writers know what really worked out well or what didn't so they can improve over time. I don't pretend to believe I have the superior ability to make stories better. It would be great if I could, but what author would want to try if they were blasted for being un-original? I've left reviews in case the authors didn't realize others thought they did superb jobs. Even if a work isn't everything the reader hoped, surely there must be something good in it if the reader chose to read it.
Who hasn't written or thought about the girl next door who gets swept off her feet by the boy she always knew? What about Cinderella? I am not saying Kaiba is the boy next door or that he is the Prince, but isn't it fun just to believe or maybe hold some hope that something so unbelievable can occur?
I don't mean to be negative. Fanfiction has renewed interest in reading again for me. I hope it's spawned the same in others and writers like yourself are encouraged to blossom, not be discouraged.
I'm sorry I digressed. About the chapter, it was touching to read Yugi and Yami Yugi's POV. It is sad when the dream of having one you like turn to someone else. Since the someone Anzu has turned to is that last person one would have thought and happens to be his/their rival, I can only imagine the pain. You did a great job at capturing those feelings in the tormented thoughts.
I adore how you've made them believe it is partially their fault. Protecting her at all costs is so much a part of who they are.
Despite some of the negativity, I see you've completed this tale and I am excited to read on. Thanks for sharing.

I adore Kaiba's rationalization in his mind. It's sort of like false solid reasoning to make it all make sense. I too was thinking Anzu's POV was coming up but keeping it Kaiba centric is working very well indeed.
| fanofthisfiction chapter 2 . 10/8/2009
It was interesting how you superimposed Kaibas thoughts with an internal analysis of them. In written form it looks unusual, but the idea is quite the opposite, it's very enlightening. It gives the idea of an internal struggle and not only sets it up but explains it.
