This is a very fascinating story. You really gave Legolas a complex character with a deep and painful past. Truly, this is probably the most indepth characterization of the elf I have ever read. It takes a lot of work to pull the pieces together and I can understand Gimli's frustration. But at the same time I can understand Legolas' difficulty in sharing his past. One can say he was deeply traumatized. I'm interested to see how everything ties together, especially the first part of the story where you imply that things did not go well for our two heros when they reentered the forest. Thank you for sharing.

I'm so glad to see this story up again! It really is one of the most complex and intriguing pieces on the net. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next - and what happened before between Legolas and Thranduil.

thank you very much for your kind reply! I've left quite a number of reviews on various stories here on ff-net, but I hardly ever got an answer from the author, which sometimes really disappointed me (especially when you sit for almost 2 hours trying your best to analyse a good piece of writing and putting all your enthusiasm into a 1600-words-review...). But anyway, this doesn't bother me anymore, for people certainly have their reasons for now answering every reviewer out there, be it lack of time or lack of energy. So it's very nice of you to give me a reply! :)

I'm sorry that the webadresses didn't show in my last review, it must be the ff-net review system that erases them. Anyway, it's good to see that you got my meaning all the same. WOW, I was so happy find 14 chapters of "Dark Forest" now on ff-net! The formation is so much better now, that on the other web page was really unnerving, I had to copy it to a blank Word-document and structure the lines myself in order to read it... Now I must rush to read the new chapters today!
