I loved this story. It was great. I wish they showed some closure on the show. They didn't, This did though

THis fic was just heartbreaking, and breathtaking. The lyrics flowed so, so well with the movement of the story.I could hear them playing in the background. And the crack in the Impala's windshield, to me, was so powerful. Such a metaphor, and perhaps foreshadowing, into Dean, and their entire family. I go back and forth between which brother I feel the most sorry for at certain points, but you have brought out such a great insight into Sam into this one. I think he forgets about Dean sometimes, so I loved how you showed him remembering if only just for a moment.
Thanks for writing this,

It's nice to be able to think of this episode while reading your commentary on it. Internal psychology is one thing tv can never capture without (often corny) voice-overs. The lyrics fit nicely too. I love the tone of hopefulness that you ended with, and Sam's realization that he's with the most important person in his life.

Very cool story. :) I loved it. Great work.
| Palo Alto chapter 1 . 3/6/2006
Good job, the Big & Rich lyrics fit so well and I like the way you aproached the "flashback" and then went back to that crack in the windshield. Well done!

The lyrics were perfect and flowed nicely with the story, and I love the direct dialogue from the episode mixed in with your own take on things.
And the ending was fuzzy-inducing. :)

Oh this is so beautiful. A lot has been written around the forums about how heartbreaking these scenes were for Dean but Sam was completely broken, utterly ripped to shreds. To be reunited with his father after so many years of estrangement and then to just as suddenly lose the connection again.
Thisis going into my favourites.:-)
| Phx chapter 1 . 3/5/2006
How do you do that? You consistantly get inside their heads everytime and enrich what was given to us - it is amazing. It blends so well and is so well written that it is effortless to read and feel...
I stand in awe.
"What he had been looking for had been right beside him his entire life."
What can I say? Aw!
And so glad to read a fic that isn't about Sam ripping Dean's heart out because his own was just as shredded - maybe more since he's the one being torn in half. Half wants to please his brother and father, and half knows he needs he please himself. The last thing he'd want is to resent Dean...
Boy - there I go overanalyzing again, lol!
Bottom line - another great story, keep'em coming gal! I think I look forward to them as much as to Tuesday nights!
