Just stumbled across this story and I'm so glad I did.

I love seeing the boys' relationship through John's eyes in the beginning. Their voices are spot on and it's so amusing to hear them bickering back and forth.

Sam's reason for why he doesn't protest John calling him Sammy was so real and believable; of course he would know Dean loves him, and of course he would want to believe the same from John, but having evidence of it - even through just an affectionate nickname - probably helps to remind Sam that even if he doubts it sometimes, he still knows that his father loves him.

And poor Sam, having a nightmare/vision about his Dad. I adore the image of John opening his arms for him and Sam hugging him. It's always refreshing to see John in this light, where you /know/ that he did what he thought was best, and that he loves his sons no matter what.

Okay, wow. Long comment is long. Sorry 'bout that. I'll just finish saying that I loved this fic like crazy.

Great story, loved all the different aspects of it. Perfect the humour in the boys banter as they tried to get comfortable sharing a bed and John's reactions as he overheard their conversation. Great how John went to respond to Sam's 'nightmare' but after getting a look from Dean left him to it, but opened his arms to his youngest after Sam's distressed "Dad". And loved how Sam responded, going to his dad. So believable John's reactions to Sam's revelations about his visions and one telekinetic experience, could imagine it playing out in my head as I read.
