People claim this site is going to shut down all the time. Hasn't happened yet and probably isn't going to. Also the bugs, those are fake news if ever you're going to hear them. Updates and upgrades have been rolled out to fix bugs for over a decade now. The site is fine. If you don't like it here anymore then sure move to AO3. But I can't help notice it has been two years and some change since you claimed you were moving on and the octobertown account on AO3 has nothing on it. You'd think you'd have at least migrated some of the chapters of this story by now.

so sad that this story was never completed. you had me at the edge of my seat the entire ride. I loved how strong you made both characters and the added back story.

I'm not sure I understand the whole site not being here thing. The site's not going anywhere. If your story has gotten too mature for the site's rules that's on you not the site. And if your readers and reviewers have more or less migrated over to ao3 and you want to follow them over there instead of sticking around on this site that's also on you. Mind you there's nothing wrong with migrating over to ao3 just don't pretend the reason is any kind of issue with this site.

The truth is I haven't read ROMY for some years now, and after coming back and finding your story...well what can I say, it was refreshing. I don't know when you will continue or if, but I sincerely hope that you will. I also stumbled upon your tumblr and would really like to read anything else you have on this pair. I understand that upon request you would share the world you created.

Don't be sorry, it's great news to hear it is still in the back of your mind! I'm pretty sure this is the greatest Romy story I've ever read, still! It just had everything one could want in it, and you write them so beautifully. I'm 100% down to read it whenever it comes back, or is finished because it was such a great story and I'd love to see it end.

I hadn't heard the rumors about FanFic shutting down! I kind of hate that, even though I too have noticed that there is a lot less traffic here and a lot more over at A03. I've moved to writing in both places, actually. I'm finishing up on a ROMY story I never posted now, and I wonder if I should simply post it on A03 instead of FanFic. I suppose I can still upload to both, but how surprising! Thanks for the heads up on the rumor, even if it's possibly true, I want to download all my stories to a harddrive and not simply keep them on the site. I'd hate to lose them, even the older ones- they're not that good but they're still part of all the writing I've done.

I totally get it, actually, I did the same thing. Had a story chapter on a dead computer, waited five years to get it fixed, got the chapter and it took me another five years just to finish the story. But, a lot like your story, FanFic helped me through much of the same stuff when I was younger. I also just hate leaving anything unfinished and stubborn-ed my way through it! You've always been great, and I'm here for it whenever you finish it, here or A03. You're missed too! : ) See you there!

My heart skipped a beat when a I saw an update for this story! I was in middle school when a I discovered fanfiction, and this story in particular cemented my love for this particular genre of literature. I said literature because authors like you write pieces of work that can rival any formal writer. Thank you for the alert on the possible closing of the site, I will start saving all my favorite stories.

oh, well, hello there! glad to hear that you're alive, and nice to see a few words of update from you even if it's not a new chappy. i'll live in eternal hope that there will be more to this fic one day, so you best believe i'm hitting subscribe to you over on Ao3, where i've been hanging out the past year and a half or so... (not entirely sure i'll port all my old fics over there, but hey, guess i better back 'em up just in case!) - but regardless, it's nice to see that you're still out there livin' your best fandom life. i've renewed my appreciation for fanfic over the past 2 or so years, and it's probably helped keep me sane(ish), so i'll just say that it's great to see a bit of a blast from the fanfic past. :)
