Little bit disturbing, but I liked it all the same. Very well done. :)
| Archiril chapter 2 . 11/9/2011
This is so surprising, but so beautiful! I really loved it! Please write some more! :D
| Fan81981 chapter 1 . 4/5/2010
0_0 - that was amazing / stunning, take your pick.
I must say when I read the first couple of paras I thought this was some S&M fic and almost gave up. Thankfully I persevered and loved it, though to be honest I like the second (fluffy) chapter better. It was witty and not too cute. Loved the banter - it was so adult in tone(and I don't mean in a smutty fashion either). A pleasure to read.
I also liked the take on test - not how I saw it happening but an interesting take. For me the best litmus was the fact that this got me thinking of how the friendship could have developed and how the power sharing could have worked. I
Final works (I promise) and a testement to you ... loved the whole confusion of the time keeping in the 2nd chapter. It added to the depth of the story and showed that the characters really lived for you. All in all, I think this adds to the sandbox Tolkien gifted us.
| sazza-da-vampire chapter 2 . 9/22/2008
the interaction between Legolas and Faramir is superb.
| gymnastics-lover chapter 1 . 1/3/2007
This was very well put together. Touching and well done!
| ithiliengirl108 chapter 2 . 12/14/2006
“Well, child of sun and stars who cannot tell time, how quickly can you run up the hill and stick a grape vine in the ground?”
Best line I read all week? You bet.
But this whole story *all 2 chapters* was awesome! I *heart* Faramir & Legolas friendship fics! I only wish there where more of them out there... Anyway, this was great!
| Eyes-of-Pearl chapter 2 . 12/13/2006
thank you so much for sharing the epilogue with us. love the interaction between characters: you have captured the genuine trust and friendship between legolas and faramir. great job!
| lauren hedgehog chapter 2 . 12/11/2006
loved it, especially the epilouge :-) Great character interaction :-)
| Rhyselle chapter 2 . 12/11/2006
ROFL! Oh, I love it! I truly was laughing out loud as I finished reading the Epilogue, and still have a big smile on my face.
I particularly liked the mental image of elflings and Man-children playing together all over Ithilien. :) I like to think that, when the peril of the Ring War is over, that the elves who remain in Middle-earth do increase their rate of procreation, because the world is safe for their elflings again. That doesn't mean that the elves still won't be leaving Middle-earth eventually or fading if they remain, but I can't see an Elf Colony in Ithilien that is populated only by adults! :)
Thank you for granting my wish for an epilogue!
| Rhyselle chapter 1 . 12/7/2006
I found this fic on the favorites list of an author who was on one of my favorite author's favorites list. LOL! I hope that wasn't too confusing.
Excellent piece of writing. The interaction between Faramir and Aragorn and Legolas at the beginning was very well done. A lot of fics show Faramir and Legolas as bosom buddies without showing how they got to that point. The transitional period of acquaintance to friend is a fascinating one, but extremely difficult to write about. You've managed to capture that period very well in this.
And the ritual of strength and trust was awesome. It reminded me in a way of the rite of passage that I went through as I became a Chief Petty Officer-not that I had to bear chains to the point of unconsciousness (LOL!), but that I had to demonstrate that I trusted my fellow Chiefs, and that I trusted myself as well.
Please add me to the readers who wish that you would write an epilogue to show Legolas' awakening into full fellowship with the Ithilien Rangers. I can imagine it, but I'm sure what I picture in my head doesn't do justice to what you see in your imagination. :)
Excellent, excellent tale. Going on my favorites list.
| Rabid Angel chapter 1 . 8/14/2006
Beautiful. This shows the strength of human spirit distilled within just a few actions. It displays just how far we'll go for what we really want. Absolutely moving- keep up the great work.
| Vanagristiel chapter 1 . 6/4/2006
Wow! This was awesome! I mean.. it was really, really good! I loved the way you described this ritual the rangers did and its meaning! Just perfectly done! But I felt the need for an ending... something more! Can't you consider doing an epilogue? It would be just awesome! Really! Anyways... great story!
| Nieriel Raina chapter 1 . 5/20/2006
Oh, no no no...you cannot end that there! you had a great thing going here, wonderfully written...and just what have you been initiated into, hmm? but then you just ... stop
I guess I see why you wished to leave it there, showing the trust as he slips into unconsciousness, but wouldn't it be nice to see the outcome?
Great writing, good plot line, wonderful descriptions...I'm impressed. except for the end...but then I'm never happy with shorts...there's never enough! You need to write a sequel!
Can't wait to see what else you've written & hope you'll check mine out as well!
| ithiliengirl108 chapter 1 . 5/19/2006
Interesting! I liked it. (is it ok if I didn't completely understand it?)
I think you should do more stories with Legolas and Faramir. Of course I tell everyone that...
But anyway, good story!
