Reviews for Moon Over Marin
madame bellatrix chapter 11 . 1/23/2013
-This is one of the best stories I've ever read, fanfiction or other wise.I could feel the mood of the story as it played out and watched how everything literally held me captive as I read it all straight now,I'm currently trying to hold back my tears as I just finished reading it.
babymittn chapter 11 . 7/10/2012
I must say that this was truly a marvel to read. A beautiful story, with such depth that is hard to find. It's masterpieces like this that I aspire to create, but fail in the most bitter of ways. You can do what some people can only dream of doing. Therefore I am quite envious, but also very inspired by you.
Your writing can reach into the very depths of one's mind, and twist it into something of alternative believing. The story is rich in all, but also rich in small, almost unappreciated detail, and symbolism. Your writing forces the mind to contemplate things of un-comprehensible insight, and things truly undefined in itself. I found myself looking at things differently, comprehending the story differently than others because the writing connects to every sense of mind. I found myself experiencing, and understanding things that I had no prior grasp, or knowledge of. I sadly say that I cannot hope to go into such depth with most stories in this place because the author was clearly not trying to reach that level of depth that is not in their level of understanding. Therefore this place has, in a sense, dulled my comprehension. But your story has refined that lost obsession, and has somehow given me mysterious hope. Perhaps not all writers here are (discreetly said) amateurs like me, or trollers with nothing better to do than poison the intelligible mind.
The way you have gotten into the character's minds, the reader's minds, is somehow eerie, and unsettling. I don't think i'll get much sleep because of this, and the depth of meaningful symbolism within the chapters.
I quite liked how you portrayed Falco as an indescribable source of refuge with a sense of higher power, a god. And Leon being the savior, the Christ of those around him, but one who needs his own savior, his own Christ. I quite liked how you, in a way, portrayed Leon as Christ, and Falco as God.
This story was a sick, twist of sanity, and innocence, but more like an addicting drug than a festering disease. Although, a disease could be just as accommodating a label.
'Moon Over Marin' will forever be most regrettably, and most disturbingly burned into my mind, and (even more concerning) my dreams with the sickening fact of me wanting it to be.
I am honored to have found, and have read your story, and I am sorry that you have not written more.
Shail666 chapter 1 . 9/3/2011
How has this not gotten more reviews? This story was and still is beautifully written and incredibly addictive.
Lucarioblaze chapter 11 . 2/1/2011
Wow. This, is really good. I like FalcoxLeon. It's a sweet kinda pairing. But you just totally flipped my mind's look on the pairing. There is quite a lot of angst and background history to these guys. And you completely showcased their flaws.

One word: beautiful. Keep writing! (*w*)b

Cornflak chapter 1 . 1/3/2011
Goddamn, how you inspire me... .

Everyone here has practically voiced my thoughts, but damn.

I envy your skill.

Chimerical Knave chapter 11 . 1/2/2011
No lie.

When i was reading through the part about Gloria the song "Roxanne" by The Police was playing. I didn't notice it until they were signing the chorus "Roxanne . . . "

Really. Just sad. A sad, sad ending.

And I'm listening to Every Breath You Take by The Police, which is a sad song, in a way of sorts.

I almost teared up typing this and while reading that part with Gloria.

Well . . . live and let die, right? Time to move on, no matter how hard it is.

So Leon did kill her, though technically she killed herself already.

So, does that mean that I lose all my chips?

Just let me know when you're done, okay?

I'm . . . done.
Chimerical Knave chapter 10 . 1/2/2011

Maybe it was the alcohol. (Drinking some Fat Tire as I type this)

I didn't want any distractions. (Too bad. Listening to Live and Let Die is quite the distraction as I'm typing this out.)

Well, Falco sure seems like an interesting fellow to know. Crazy when he fights and tender when he fucks.

Meh. You definitely went into a lot more detail with this one. You know, when I typed this shit out way back in my days of yore it felt so cheesy and stupid and yet here I am reading it and the sex scene doesn't seem that bad at all.

Well, it's not cheesy so don't worry pal.

Just let me know when you're done, okay?

Well, Falco and Leon both finished at the same time.
Chimerical Knave chapter 9 . 1/2/2011
Now ain't that just peachy?

Leon just waltzed on out of there.

Just peachy.

Weeeel, butter my butt and call me a biscuit but what the hell just happened?

Let's get this show on the road.
Chimerical Knave chapter 8 . 1/2/2011
"Just let me know when you're done, okay?"

Well, you certainly didn't give Roger a stopping place.

"That was amazing."

Yes. Yes it was. A bit sick of me to enjoy this, right? Well, can't help myself if I enjoy some decent writing.

Shit. I've been holding out on myself for too long reading shit stories. I need to let myself relax and enjoy life at times too.

So once again this was good. Shit, you're own character couldn't have said it any better.

"That was amazing."
Chimerical Knave chapter 7 . 1/2/2011
So, psychology is a joke? Or is therapy a joke?

Hmmm . . . I took psychology. It was okay. Really. It was. My teacher had a nice ass and I liked her. Not just because she had a nice ass. She had personality and flare. Something that most teachers didn't have.

Meh. Nice dialogue but I'm sure you're tired of hearing/reading that by now.

Not as dark but some action now. Well, Falco pecked the fucker's/Roger's eye out.

Hot damn. An eye for an eye, I suppose.
Chimerical Knave chapter 6 . 1/2/2011
Hmmm . . . slowly getting darker and darker, the chapters.

Listening to Rush - 2112 (Priests of Syrinx) as I write this review.

Very exciting music that really doesn't suit the setting/mood that you've tried to set up.

And for that I must apologize.

So, suicide at the end or no?

Well, I'm all fresh out of chips. I might win back double the load if my bet is correct with Leon and Her.

Or I could lose big time like all those sorry sods in Las Vegas.

Just let me know when you're done, okay?

Halfway there.
Chimerical Knave chapter 5 . 1/2/2011

Poetry, job bonuses, and ass beatings in one chapter. What isn't here that should be?

More information, that's what.

Sheesh. You just keep on slowly dragging out that crime that Leon committed. Just keep on dragging it out and never tell us.

God. I wonder what he did?

Well. He can't bring Her back. And her is Gloria. And that collie, Ethan, talks about the best of us getting mushy over that one person.

So . . . I see.

I go all in with my chips this time. I'm certain that Leon killed Her.

Just let me know when you're done, okay?

Getting there.
Chimerical Knave chapter 4 . 1/2/2011

I was wrong and there goes a large portion of my chips.

Le sigh. This is what I get for gambling. Did I ever tell you about the time that I gambled on a cruise ship and won it big? Black Jack. Went from ten (10) dollars to over a hundred (100) and then I lost it all to a fucking slot machine.

Fucking slot machine. They just gobble up your money and spit out a few cents every now and then.

So, Gloria is the beaut's name, eh? Pretty nice description. Nothing too descriptive like those corny, cheesy porn stories that I happen to find every now and then, but nothing that just alludes to the action either.

Just let me know when you're done, okay?

I've got seven more chapters to go, sheesh.
Chimerical Knave chapter 3 . 1/2/2011
Hmmmm . . . So no hint as to who SHE is though I'm still betting the larger stack of my chips on HER. I'm sure you know who SHE is. It's HER. The big hype from all the later Star Fox games. Well, actually SHE was just a big hype from one Star Fox game and that didn't even sport a cannon story line.

Shit. I said too much.

Anyhow. So, apparently Falco has got the hots for Leon and vis versa.

Once again, I must commend you for your dialogue. I felt like I was sitting in a movie theater. Not to say that your dialogue was some cliche movie liners.

And we're walking, and walking.
Chimerical Knave chapter 2 . 1/2/2011

-Everything in prison is what is for a reason.-

Didn't make too much sense to me . . . or is that just me? But I could hint at what you were trying to say when I read the next paragraph.

Sergeant seems like a colorful fellow. Real dynamic and all that. Not dull at all. )

Can't bring her back?

I would immediately jump and say HER but I'm not too sure.

Let's read on, shall we?
