This is wonderful! It's so rare to come across a fic (especially pre-series) that actually feels like an episode, but you've done it perfectly. Your writing style and dialogue are great, and totally in character, but I'm especially impressed with your pacing, and the way you spread out the clues and details of the story.
I think my favorite thing, though, is how you write the boys. You show that Dean feels a huge amount of responsibility for Sam and pressure to please John, but you also show that he's a teenager, who's not above leaving his post for a few minutes to make out with a cheerleader. Your Sam is wonderful too - you do a great job of showing him on the cusp of realizing that John's rules and actions aren't fair, and we can see the beginning of the rebellion that will lead to Stanford.
It's also fun to see the boys struggling with a case that, in the show, would be barely a blip - it's really interesting to see them learning the ropes on their own, and figuring out how they work together on a hunt.
In short, fabulous story, and thanks so much for writing!

Whew! Action-packed!

Still digging this story. I like that Mariah's not all bad, that Dean does well in Chemistry, that Sammy used his puppy eyes on the principal, and Amy's death in the empty pool was original.

Thank you for continuing to give clues about the vengeful spirit. The taunt to Amy makes me wonder if the ghost (Jason?) was bullied for being gay or not going along with some dare.

Curiouser and curiouser. ;)

Very intriguing so far. Written with verve (sensory details, characterization, strong flow) and I want to know who/what is picking off the jocks. No doubt Dean will end up hip deep in trouble even though he's nothing like the footballers. ;)

And, I wonder if Ms. Martin will have more impact on events...

I enjoyed this fic a lot. Good old ghost case, the Winchester boys being left alone while Dad's on a hunt, the irony of both Sam and Dean being awesome but seen as weirdos/outcasts... It was a nice read, thank you!
