This is AMAZING!
| YesNoMaybeIdk chapter 15 . 1/23
Oh my goodness. This was the most beautiful RoyAi story I've ever read. The drama, tension, and character development were all so perfect, and I love how you kept your plot in line with the canon plot. I could totally see this backstory happening. Also, you have no idea how loudly I squealed when they kissed. All of my friends were like, "Is she okay?" XD
Anyway, thank you for gracing the RoyAi fandom with this piece of awesomeness. Favoriting forever. :D

I could go on and on about how much I love this story; after all, it is one of my favorites of all time, and definitely my favorite out of your work, but I will try to keep it short and sweet.
-your writing is gorgeous. I fell in love with the metaphors you used in this story. The whole thing with the hummingbird was my favorite aspect of this. I happen to love hummingbirds and the concept of the bird slitting his own throat and having to fly to keep from dying; I thought that was hauntingly beautiful and very clever. My favorite scenes would have to be Riza's dream before she woke up in the hospital("is there anyway to stop the bleeding?";_;) and the blackberry picking scene
-great plot and so perfectly paced
-royai. Need in say more?
-very powerful and very emotional. The whole theme of sexual abuse really hit me hard, and there were some very beautiful concepts. I especially loved the part about "without question love". I loved that entire berry scene because of all the interesting, intellectual things Roy and Riza were discussing.
-I cried while reading this. A lot, and I am not ashamed
-the ending was real. And by that I mean it wasn't a Disney princess happily ever, but it was satisfying
Overall just a beautiful, moving story that I will never forget. Huh...I guess this didn't turn out very short, but it was sweet right? :)

The best royai fic I've read so far. thank you for writing that! :)
| bri-notthecheese chapter 15 . 10/3/2013
Oh my gosh...I stumbled upon a link for this story a few hours ago and against my better judgement, I read it all. I actually had to keep reminding myself that it wasn't actually canon, because the way you wrote it, it could've been. But what else can I say? This story was absolutely beautiful. It broke my heart so many times and I was on the brink of crying or just getting very upset when they were arguing because of how well you wrote this out. But in the end, that last chapter, was wonderful. It was a breath of fresh air after all the hurt and angst to read that scene. Plus, I loved the additions of Ed and Al to the mix and I was laughing at everything with them. Thank you for this wonderful story! These two have so much going on underneath them, and you portrayed them excellently. Lots of pain. So good job! But there was also so much love as well, and I guess if you want that beautiful love with these two, you have to be prepared for everything else. Thanks again! It was a fantastic read!

I haven't reviewed earlier chapters because I couldn't stop reading, I apologize. This work is simply amazing, I must continue. I'll leave a more tasteful review when, I'm done. Now I must finish this beautiful story or I'll go insane from wonder. I'm glad it's done, so I can finish it in one night.

The last chapter made me giggle. I found the lines about bleaching eyes and mind particularly hilarious XD
Anyway, loved this story overall! I like fics that have a narrative but still keep the focus firmly on the feelings of the main two. Well done :)

Absolutely amazing, there's no denying that. You wove together a breathtakingly beautiful tale of loss, tragedy, suffering, and finding happiness in the aftermath. It was such a pleasure to read this, and your skill with words is undeniable. Amazing, wonderful job! I am a permanent admirer :)

This is a great story. Roy and Riza were very much in character. I enjoyed reading especially the ending.
| Tigrou19 chapter 15 . 7/28/2013
I loved this fic.
Your writing style is totally awesome and I loved the plot. Wonderful story, I don't even know what to say because it's fucking perfect !
| Missy chapter 15 . 7/25/2013
This is pretty much the only RP (and I've read many) where Riza/Roy are actually IN CHARACTER. *GASP* So thank you for that. :3 However it was a cripplingly depressing read in which I actually had to skip to the so/so anti climatic ending. It was a realistic, adult ending if anything, no Disney fair tale. Can't even pay money for that no days, so thank you again.. But still.. Meh.
| Singofsolace chapter 1 . 7/24/2013
This was one of the first fanfics that I fell in love with, all the way back when I was very young and just starting to get interested in fan fiction. For years, I read and re-read this story because I was in love with the words and the character development and every aspect of the plot. I loved the hummingbird aspect; the idea that Riza was once a young girl listening to a made-up story about a hummingbird, and that that story had stuck with her long into her adult life, was fascinating and intriguing. I felt that the writing was so poignant and meaningful. I was in awe of how in-character Riza and Roy were. I believed it was very true to Riza's psyche to think that something terrible could happen to her and she would never tell anyone unless something like pregnancy resulted from it. I applaud your handling of delicate situations with such finesse and superb attention to detail. To be honest, I had long since given up on ever finding out the ending to this fanfic because I knew the likelihood of the author returning to finish a story that had not been updated in years was slim. I cannot tell you how surprised and elated I was to discover today that you had updated this story. I thank you for completing a tale that has had me spell-bound for years. Perhaps now I can finally have that closure, too. Stories without endings are like birds without wings. Thanks again for writing a wonderful story and sharing it with us.

Ahh I was so glad to have an update after so much time!
I love the ending ;D I don't remember well what happens in FMA but I do remember some parts of this story, it was quite a good read.
I like the ending, it's like, a sort of open ending and I kinda like that we can get to imagine what happens :3 Even if it's hinted.
Good job and congratulations! Wish you luck for everything.
| Lauren Cleveland chapter 15 . 7/10/2013
NO! NOT THE END! I HATE ENDINGS!
oh shouty capitals you hav disappointed me.
well done-absoulutely brilliant. i'll hav u know i plan to tell all my fan friends bout ur fanfic. literally i've been my computer since...this morning sometime and now its 7 p.m. and i'm supposed to be getting ready to go to fireworks tonight and i just know my mind wont be anyplace other than on your story. i hope you're happy...
no in all seriousness, i cant believe you're only what, 25? i pegged you for like 40-which is supposed to b a compliment believe it or not. the characters are right on target, storyline incredible. actually similar in the basest sense of the word to what i was thinking of coming up with, scenario wise w/ the colonel and hawkeye, but absolutely wouldnt've come close to this perfection.
i cant tell u how happy i am that i didnt have to wait, what-5 years? for u to finish. dont think i cud've. all the same very sad its over and i havent looked over your other work (def will SOON) but if u havent created some kind of sequel please please please...do.
the only slight disappointment i had was not being able to read the colonel and riza eventually taking the plunge cause i can only imagine how awesome that wudve been. but i understand why u didnt include it even if i dont like it.
thank you so much for writing this ;)
| Brook Uchiha S.A chapter 15 . 7/10/2013
