| Ammonite chapter 1 . 7/27/2006
Superb. I love these little views of daily life on Galactica - how people cope - you write them so well. Then you throw in Kara's thoughts and views. Somehow she manages to forget that Lee already reached out and she made it a joke - tossed it back in his face - more than once. She's so brave in some ways and so afraid to take a chance in others.

That was beautiful! So laced with subtext it felt like a real episode. I liked the touches between Lee and Kara-especially the punch to her ribs that mirrored her emotional ache. I loved the metaphor in the line, "She remembers too many instances where *Lee and Kara* looked like these kids in the corridor...only somehow they never quite got in the door...The couple at the head of the line nod. They aren't touching. Just waiting." That was just amazing. I also liked the last section very much.
This obviously took a lot of thought to write, but it was the thought it took to really digest it that made this an engaging and memorable piece.
