| angellec chapter 1 . 1/3
I think part of the problem of seeing what Sam gives back to Dean is the show tends to gloss over that, with stupid plots as never looking for Dean when he was in Purgatory which I still don't buy it gets ignored for some reason known only to the writers. I agree with you that Sam does give back they just don't let us see it.

Oh my crowly got what he wanted but eh the hellish way "extra few inches" xD
| Paleonut chapter 1 . 7/23/2011
Just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed this & agree with you about what Sam does for Dean, and that I enjoy how relevant this is six seasons later! I've been enjoying reasing your work, it is a great insight into what people thought as the series unfolded... a time I'm sad to say I missed. I discovered Supernatural a year and a half ago. Thank you for sharing.

beautiful and adorable as always _ :')
p.s. I always wondered how would Dean react when Sam would start growing taller than him :P :D I gather he wouldn't be too happy about it :P

Thank you for this story - and I agree totally with you. Sam and Dean give to each other. What they give and how they give it is different because they're different. What Dean needs is different than what Sam needs. Dean's personality dictates how & what Sam can give him, so he needs to act differently. But it works perfectly for them.
You do a beautiful job of painting the scenario. I can just Dean pulling up on a cold and rainy (I added that part) night in front of the hotel room. Inside its warm and comfortable and safe. All of which is made better by Sam being there.
Thank you - I loved it.

For some reason ff. net won't let me log in. Sorry, normally I submit signed reviews.
This was amazing! Just what I needed to pick me up after an afternoon of boring studies... I love the connection they share, that each is the other's rock. And I totally agree with you on that what Sam gives to Dean is just as important, only a little harder to see cause you need to take a peak inside Dean's thick scull :o)
Going to my favorites!
| JenBurch chapter 1 . 4/7/2007
Yeah, I totally agree! Dean does the more obvious for Sam, but still Sam does a lot for Dean that I think people miss completely. Dean is the way he is because of his little brother... he'd be so different otherwise!
| Lillehafrue chapter 1 . 2/25/2007
Loved this. Absolutely LOVED this. Nice to see Dean's prespective on things without it becoming a "chick-flick" moment. You write them so well, I can see this in my head. Thanks for sharing.
| nolongeractivedfgdfgd chapter 1 . 12/1/2006
Very cute! I loved the realization that we've all known all along. Dean may be Sam's protector, but Sam is Dean's rock. I loved it and you put it into words perfectly. Good job.

I'll admit, I don't read the boards, and when I read fanfic, if an author doesn't stay in character with Sam and Dean, I back out and don't read it. Which is why, I guess, I've been so blissfully unaware that anyone felt that way about Sam.
I'm the oldest in my family, so I totally identify with Dean, and I really love both brothers. But, Sam...he's still my fav.
You capture them expertly, as they are on the show. And, they act the way true siblings do. The younger children accepting of the things their older siblings do for them, without much thought about it, because that is the way it has always been.
And the oldest..well, like Dean, what we can't get by persuasion, we'll take by force...for the good of our siblings of course. (c:
I see you wrote this story last summer, which makes it all the more awesome. Remember, after Bloodlust, Dean said something about wanting to kill Lenore, and Sam said, "Yeah, but you didn't that's what's important."
Dean replied, "Because your a monster pain in the ss, that's why."
Sam really does protect Dean's soul, and Dean protects Sam. Kudos to you, for going there FIRST!
Oh, and I'll agree with another reviewer. I've never heard a better tag line for the guys either, "It was a Winchester thing. Feel much admit nothing." I think I got that quote right. Great Job!
