This fanfic is the reason why I don't really like E/C stories. I think, that with OC Erik becomes more interesting. I loved Laure with all my heart! She's precious. I'm really tired of reading about Erik's lessons with Christine. So I'm happy to discover your great story.
I loved everything about it, the structure and different POVs. And most of all - the idea of Erik's grown-up son. That was brilliant. I loved, how you portrayed Nicolas - he is like Erik's alter ego, but more perfect and loved for sure.
As for Erik, I haven't realized, that you were picturing Gerard Batler's version of him, until you'd written about it in your note a couple chapters before. I imagined more Leroux's Erik, but with one-half mask. I don't mind him being half-handsome (no, not at all). But of course I felt something new about him throughout the story. He is definitely less mysterious and more human in your imagination. His character absorbes the warm air of Persia and Corsica. And his skin is warm :-)
Laure is a gem. I loved everything about her. But most of all - her attitude towards Erik. Her respect for his nature. And for his mask. I actually liked, that she didn't want to take his mask off, this thought was not her idee-fixe.
What Erik thinks about Christine - is 100% my thoughts too. That's why I can't picture them together and always search for OCs or OOC Christines :-)
Thank you for the story! And I'm heading to sequel right now ;-)

I really loved this story...so well done. Your OC Laure, was charming, and a great fit for Erik...I liked the fact that she came before Christine; I also loved the way you handled Erik's obsession with Christine...short and over quickly once Laure and Nicolas came back into his life. It was amusing the way you portrayed Christine...sort of a dim bulb, wasn't she? I'm glad this didn't become a triangle like so many OW stories end up...it was fun, touching, and very sexy. Looking forward to reading the sequel.
