Catching up :) Sheesh. This is really sad-poor Sammy! Is he going to get mad? Since you've finished this one (like, 2 years ago), I guess I'll go find out. I've missed reading fic-especially the actual good stuff like yours :)

Aw...that was a sad and sweet story but at least you gave us a happy ending. Glad to see that Dean decided to fight in the end! Great story, keep writing!

I've been exploring your site and working my way through your fics - this one was amazing. I was so worried that Dean's decision was going to be to not return. I worry about this situation for him. Isn't that crazy? Worry. For a characer. On TV. ANYWAY! Thanks for writing. I completely enjoyed it. I'm off to read more...
| NC Girl chapter 1 . 9/6/2006
I really liked this a lot. I also think it is screaming for a sequel. (oh wait… maybe that’s me!) Seriously, though, I really like this direction and would love to see a follow-up. Maybe the guys reunite again after Dean spends a few weeks with John? Something to consider anyway. Thanks for taking the time to write and post this one.

Nice fic. :) You wrote some good h/c, and I liked not only how Mary helped both Sam and Dean, but also how Sam and John had a better relationship than what they had pre-“Devil’s Trap.” It’s nice to think that one day, they could be on really good terms with each other.
A nurse walked into the room later to check on the patient and found Sam asleep next to his bed, his head on his brother’s arm.
Aww. Such a sweet image. :)
When Sam was born, he wanted his little brother to be happy and he wanted to be the best big brother ever. After his mother died, he wanted his father not to be so sad all the time. As he learned to hunt, and found out about all the evil in the world, he wanted to help make everyone safe. But Dean never thought about what he might want for himself. All of those things were for him in a way.
I really, really like this paragraph. Dean defines himself so much by his family and by what he does (hunting), and so these words ring very true.
“I’ve always been John’s son, Sam’s big brother. I never got to be Dean and I don’t know how to do it.”
Great dialogue. Goes back to the whole issue of how much defines himself by his relationships with his father and brother. Poor, angsty Dean. *hugs Dean*
“I’ve given Sammy all I have to give, Mom. And I’m tired.”
Mary pulled him toward her. “Then let Sammy give to you.”
I love Mary’s words there, and how she’s urging Dean to draw strength from Sam. Very sweet.
Thanks for a good read.

Really great chapter, I liked how you described Dean's feelings - totally believable. All of them, actually. Too bad they have to separate, though, I'm looking forward to what you have planned next.

my heart was breaking for dean.. im just glad his ok .. i know its not all over yet but its a step in the right direction
| K Hanna Korossy chapter 2 . 8/20/2006
I like that you've given Dean his turn to sort things out post-
demon and the hunting life, that Sam wasn't the only one who wasn't sure what he wanted to do next. And this is just how Dean would do it, going to the edge, getting self-destructive, because he doesn't have the best emotional survival skills, does he? Knowing how to help Sam is different from knowing how to help himself. And I like that John's involved in the process, too. My one complaint about this is that after all the angst on all sides, you didn't show the the actual waking up and reuniting part. Missed a great opportunity to show Dean's realization, through seeing the others' reactions and his own desire to be there, that he made the right decision, and Sam and John's huge relief at the same. I was looking forward to that scene! :)
