Reviews for Spored |

![]() ![]() I realize this is over a decade after this book was written. I’m just going to tell you this is the best book I’ve ever read. I am crying because it is so beautiful. You should print it and sell it. People would buy this as a book. I experienced a range of emotions when reading this book. When all those Pikmin (in which I had developed a connection to) died, I had to stop and breathe to calm myself down. The ending, it was like from the point of view of a very enlightened person; It was soooo satisfying too. I felt as if I were the main character, picturing this happening in my head. I saw and pictured every tiny little detail. Every. Single. One. Only the world’s best authors can do that. I’ve read paper books that don’t do that. I loved the story too. Focusing on a puffmin is actually really interesting of a subject. I loved the characters too. They have lots of personality and individuality. I have tried to write some things, and I thought they were good, but you absolutely like, broke the roof. The artistry and style of writing just captured me from the start, and it took me hours to read the whole thing. That is a sign of a really good story. All things considered… I can’t rate it 1 to ten. It’s higher. I encourage you to keep working! ️️️ |
![]() ![]() ![]() I feel like I'm dreaming — these poems have brought me closure I never knew I needed. They're beautiful. I can't wait to see this world come back to life again in the fancomic. And I'm glad to hear that writing has continued to mean so much to you. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Took me a few hours to read through this and it's beautiful. Truly beautiful. If you've created a Discord for this, I'd love to join it. Also, maybe you could touch up the first few chapters, if you want that is. :3 I'm glad I found this on TV Tropes. |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a haunting tale. What a beautiful, terrible, unknowable world. Eight years after I first found this fic, the cliffs and ice still haunt my imagination. To have been able to experience life so vividly from a pikmin's eyes — there are not words enough for my gratitude. Thank you. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I kind of want to see an alternate version of this chapter where the main 'min actually does fully submit to the Puffstool, but otherwise this chapter is nice. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It has been a long time since I read such a beautifully written story. I believe that this is truly a masterpiece of the Pikmin Community, and that all fans should read it. This author has the talent to write things that touch the reader. Never in my life have I felt so much emotion from reading. The plot is progressive with no filler, there is character development, classic Character vs. Self and Character vs. Society conflict and an emotional, not overly dramatic or cliché ending. |
![]() ![]() So BEAUTIFUL, Sequel perhaps? |
![]() ![]() Beautiful |
![]() ![]() ![]() Huh, I never really expected the main character to change color. I mean, the story IS called "Spored" after all, so I sort of expected the main character to be a Mushroom Pikmin for the entire story. Whatever, it was still a cool little twist. Another thing I found a bit confusing: I wasn't too sure whether the main character turned into a blue Pikmin or a cyan Pikmin. I don't know if this is already explained later in the story, or if he simply turned into a blue Pikmin, but just thought I might as well point it out. In terms of everything else, the plot was nice and dramatic, and I liked the (insane) number of plot twists too! I DID spot a few grammar mistakes though (which I don't feel like bugging about right now. You got lucky!) Overall, great two chapters here! Well, I think that's the first time I've ever put spoilers in a review. Whatever, it's the reader's fault for reading the reviews before reading the story... |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well I haven't read this in a while, and I had forgotten how great of a writer you are! There were only several grammar mistakes, which I won't go nagging on about. As for the plot itself, absolutely amazing! The pacing never seems too rushed or too slow, and you use almost every element of a story perfectly! I could keep going on praising your story, but I won't. Excellent job as always! |
![]() ![]() ![]() My God, that last part of chapter 12 was sad. I think it's getting repetitive at this point, but you know what I'm going to say; these two chapters (11 and 12), were AMAZING. The backstory was wonderful, and I love how you keep subtly reminding that the main character is just a Mushroom Pikmin, an outsider. And then there was that little Pikmin 2 surprise that you gave at the end of chapter 12... BRAVO! That's all I can say. There were several stupid grammar mistakes (specifically in chapter 11, when the blue Pikmin says, "That is what we all our!" instead of, "That is what we all are!"), but because the story of these two chapters were amazing, I won't make a big fuss over it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow these two chapters (9 and 10) were FULL of descriptions. As usual, you did an outstanding job, and I never even knew it was possible to have such an accurate, yet very long description of a battle scene. I also like the different personalities of the characters, the increasing sense of danger that the that was described well, and the numerous foreshadowing you've inserted. All in all, this was a GREAT set of chapter you've written! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, I liked these two chapters! Although, I was thinking why you be so cruel as to make an EXTREMELY hostile Pikmin type. I was literally mouthing to myself "what the [insert curse here]" as I read your descriptions of Pikmin fighting each other. In other words, you made me feel devastated for making such an instigative chapter. I always feel sad when Pikmin have to fight each other unnecessarily... I'm not the biggest fan of wars. I'm going to make my reviews brief from now on, but overall, this set of chapters were wonderfully described, and you're really good at being able to stir up emotions! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Congrats V rex. You've achieved 200 reviews. Now go for 300! XD Anyways, I don't really have much to say about these two chapters (5 and 6) besides praise. Nearly every element of a story that I can think of was absolutely terrific in these two chapters, and its quite a large improvement from your first chapters. It just makes me want to read the story all the more! Also, the main character's interpretation of a leader reminds of something I wrote... Anyways, AMAZING two chapters here, and the improvement is definitely noticeable! |
