Great characterization! I didn't think it was at all OOC. Milly is such an underdeveloped character, and you've done a fantastic job of bringing out her personality. It's always good to take a break from the angst/yaoi/pairings and look at a sweetly and sensitively done character study. I especially liked how Milly's "big sister" persona surfaced. I also thought it was terribly poignant that when Milly wasn't looking at Vash, his voice sounded sad, but when she looked up, she could only see his smiles. Excellent, excellent work. Ohmigawd. Millie and Vash dialogue is really good in this one.

Really nice fic! You kept in character really well throughout most of it- I can definately see Millie giving hugs all around as a solution to all of life's problems. The one part I have an issue with is your second to last paragraph- it makes Millie come off as a little too concieted. I can't imagine that she has that good a sense of how much her emotional support means to people. Millie looks up to everyone around her. Other people make the plans, and she follows them. I don't think she realizes how much people appreciate and need her, she runs on instinct and the simple fact that she doesn't want to see her friends sad. This is only my take on the character of course. I'm also being really nitpicky- up until that point, Millie was great in character and Vash was only a little off- and he's a damn hard guy to write. The whole scenerio is great too- we really don't see enough of Vash and Millie together without Meryl's loud, attention-grabbing presence. I hope you write more Trigun fics in the future- I look forward to reading them:)
