| Heather Snow chapter 1 . 1/18/2016
I think this was a realistic look at the aftermath of GITF. Someone needed to say something to the Doctor. And Mickey's reaction and desire to leave was well written and perfectly understandable.

Oh god. You're absolutely fabulous. Granted, I've read some of your other stuff, but you just won my heart with this one. The fact that it is perfectly acceptable as canon (in between moments that don't change evil demonic episodes like Doomsday) just adds to its brilliance. Also, you made me cry long, slow tears. The scene in the wardrobe? I coulda died, it hurt so bad. Of course, that's what makes it great. So, so great.
| fieldsoffebruary chapter 1 . 6/16/2014
Ooh this was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Loved how you characterised Mickey. This was a great transition piece from the Girl in the Fireplace to the Rise of the Cybermen. Really, I'm sure that whole debacle with Reinette and the clockwork men would've hit Rose quite bad, especially since I don't think she was given a chance to properly mourn the loss of her first Doctor (because even though he's still the Doctor, he's undeniably different and that definitely takes some adjusting.) The confrontation between the Doctor and Rose was just great. It made me cry! Lol. Now if that isn't brilliant writing then I don't know what is!
| Lizzy Speril chapter 1 . 6/13/2014
I loved this. We don't get a lot of talking about Nine in the way that he was possessive and caring of Rose, while Ten is very nonchalant. I really liked your telling of it. Also, I love how it is the intro and why Mickey was holding the button! I've always wondered that! Great job. Fantastic, even!
| WitlessFool chapter 1 . 6/27/2013
Thank you for writing this. In my opinion, GitF is possibly one of the worst thing Moffat's introduced into DW, right up there with River Song. I generally go around pretending it never exited in series 2. But I love how you managed to turn it around so thank you so much for writing this :) I adore it.
| Valerie E. Mackin chapter 1 . 2/27/2013
Very well done. You hit on a touchy subject that I think about every time I watch that episode.
| Bad Wolf chapter 1 . 8/17/2012
Love! The ending was perfect xD
| Omega Devin chapter 1 . 8/10/2012
I will never have to read another post-GITF fic again. This is headcanon for me. The characterizations are spot-on (I'm so tired of fics where Rose acts like a spoiled child of where the Doctor lashes out and belittles her for trying to understand him) it totally feels like a real conversation the Doctor, Mickey, and Rose would have with each other. I was near tears when the Doctor found her wearing his last incarnation's jacket, it's one of the most heartbreaking images I can imagine. Amazing job! Keep writing!

This was just amazing. Everything .. absolutely everything.
| vannadear chapter 1 . 7/2/2012
Oh that was brilliantly done! All the feelings and things that definitely needed to be said; perfect! Thank you so much for this!
| gaarapanda5 chapter 1 . 4/8/2012
This is absolutely brilliant. (I'm at a loss of words)
| OG Lady Britain chapter 1 . 3/24/2012
Wow. Wow. Just... wow. Words do not even begin to describe what I am feeling right now.
I only began watching Doctor Who a few days ago. In those 6 short days, I have become more attached to this series that I have been to anything, ever.
I think that you should know that I don't usually review stories. I am too busy, but I just had to let you know what I am feeling.
Let me explain this: I am not one for crying. I can name on one hand the number of times I have cried in my lifetime (not accounting for infancy). Even when my favorite character in a book series died, I did not cry.
The thought of Rose lying there on the floor, wrapped in Nine's jacket, having cried herself to sleep, was almost too much to bear. In the past hour, I have probably read this story a good 15 or so times. Every time I read it, I became more and more overwhelmed with sadness. The 14th, or so, time I read it, I had to shut my computer. I cried over that scene in my head for a good 20 minutes.
You are one of the ONLY authors who has made me cry over a story. I applaud you on this fact.
I hope you wouldn't mind terribly much if I read this story again for the next hour. If you check your traffic on this story, don't be surprised to see 1000 hits on it. Seriously, I might get to that.
Thank you for writing this.
| Angela Jewell chapter 1 . 12/22/2011
Ye~ah, so I'm totally cutting and pasting the review I wrote in your livejournal because I use this site more, and your story deserves many, many more reviews. So, onto the repeat...
Wow, this was simply fantastic! Soooo glad I stumbled upon your story - I love how perfectly you understand the characters and the overarching plot. In fact, you addressed many of the issues I had with this particular episode, and did a beautiful job filling in the blanks. It really felt like it was part of the episode (or at least, should've been).
I especially loved Mickey's role in it, and how he claimed to be traveling with the wrong Doctor. That was so poignant. To be honest, I've always been kind of indifferent to Mickey's character, but that flash of insight, his willingness to leave for all the right reasons... that really made me love him. And Rose, curled up in the wardrobe room with the ninth Doctor's leather jacket, so heartbreaking; and the Doctor's realization of how much he'd hurt her, and his desperation to keep her was very reminiscent of his past self, and just perfect. Loved the possessive jab at the end, and the added story behind the lengthy button-pressing.
There was so much to love about this story. Thank you so much for writing and sharing! It's an instant favorite. _
| bickering-sidekicks chapter 1 . 6/11/2011
Oh...I love David Tennant. I really, really do. And I absolutely love Ten. (And Eleven.)
But I'm afraid this fic has me sliding back a little into GIVE ME MY 9TH DOCTOR BACK _! mode ;P
| DonnaForPresident chapter 1 . 5/3/2011
Absolutely purrfect! This is one of those stories that make me want to chant out loud: CANON CANON CANON CANON!
I've become SUCH a huge fan of your work. You get all the moods right: funny, serious, dark, romantic, sexy. Please don't ever stop writing.
