Oh, sure, leave us on a cliff - with the wendigo springing forward - and then, in the author's notes, you tell us it's DIFFERENT from other wendigos, which leads me to believe that that flare gun ain't gonna do squat. I'm gonna be tapping my toes waiting for the next chapter...

But- SAM! Didn't he learn from ROY dying in episode two that shooting a Wendigo only ticks it off worse?

Hey ... Good chapter ... i'm loving the flash backs :-) especially the werewolf one :-) Hurt Dean is just so adorable.

It's a shame they dont have any of Brenna's purple goo at the moment ... could come in handy ... with the way that stuff works i think they should keep some on them at all times. Especially with their track record of getting hurt lol

I also gotta say that i love the fact that Dean learns things from MacGyver lol i love that show (rick dean anderson is so great :-))

I'm not sure if I've reviewed the previous chapters, *ducks head shamefully* but I'm loving this story, especially this chapter. You've got the boys' characters perfectly, as in your other stories, and I can totally see each of the flashbacks happening. Wonderful!

Good chapter, glad you got back to the brothers again. I hadn't realized this was part of a kind of series which was why I didn't know what the Brenna thing was about. I figured you were going to bring the character in to like save them or something lame like that and then introduce her and I was not digging that idea at all, lol. So I'm sorry for getting all in your face about it. I really do enjoy this fic so far. Keep it up. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Amazing chapter! Once again, great song choice. I think the Macgyver reference is hilarious because Jared Padalecki was cast in a pilot for "Young MacGyver" before he did Supernatural. Keep up the great work.

OMG! What a chapter and an evil cliffie! Everything inside of Dean just screams "protect Sammy". Since he was four years old. "I'm getting you out of here, Sam". "Promise me that no matter what happens you stay on that canvas, even if something happens to me". His life for Sam's - as simple as that.

And he protects John too; excuses his behavior, follows his orders even when he doesn't agree with them and tries to reason with Sam about why he deserves their respect. Wow. Love the way you write Dean especially - all the pain and agony - both physically and emotionally. God, I love that boy! Let's hope the wendigo doesn't kill him. Doesn't look too good right now.

Oh, I'm liking this. Especially the way you integrate the flashbacks with the present. Most fanfic flashbacks I read don't ring true to me because they seem to overlook the few but significant clues we've had about the boys' childhood. But you've managed to write some scenes that feel nearly as canonical as the flashback in "Something Wicked."

Plus, Hurt!Dean! Woobie!

Still awesome :D this was a really long and entertaining chapter...especially the flasbacks, it kind of explained their reactions now. That must have hurt so bad for John, to hunt a spirit that died the same way Mary did. And the hunt that got Dean injured...when he thought the werewolf he had stabbed was Sam...that was heartwrenching :( and that is SO typically Dean isnt it? To make those markings to protect Sam while he stays open and vulnerable to the dangers. Looking forward to your next chapter!

YAY! another wonderful chapter. And just what I needed after my crazy day. (Can anyone tell me how a 3 year old can manage to fall from high places and get up an brush him self off, but trip on his own feet in the house and break his collar bone?)

Agh, leaving me hanging there is just so cruel... I'm really enjoying this story, the pace of it is perfect. The situation is so urgent and even though I guess the conversations b/w the brothers and the flashbacks are a break from the "action" as such, it really just adds to it - as you well know! *wink*. I wasn't scared of the wendigo until you described its 'wasted body' - that's absolutely perfect. Now I'm really worried! Don't leave me in suspense for too long, plz!
