kewing chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Great story! I really enjoy the flashbacks and you've nailed the characters so well. |
princess peanut chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Holy crap! That was great! I love the conversation between them. It was totally Dean and Sam. And Sam with his hundreds of questions. I could just see Dean's irritated look. And I like how you brought up the way John was when they were babies. I think Sam tends to forget that his Dad was 'normal' once. Okay, before I get too wordy, wonderful as always! |
Swanseajill chapter 1 . 12/2/2006 I know I haven't send FB for the last story yet - I will, I promise, because I enjoyed it a lot, but I just wanted to say I'm loving this one. Love all the insights and the flashbacks and the mutual concern. Will send proper FB at the end! |
sams1ra chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 "A cloud of guilt settled on Sam’s shoulders like it was coming home." Wow. So… true. And funny. So, explain something to me, ok? How come your chapters are always so long, and still always feel so damn short? Update quickly would ya? |
My heart beats only for you chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 I really really like this fic but not digging the whole Brenna thing at all. If I'd known this was going to be an AU het story about Dean's lost love, I wouldn't have read it. It's just not my cup of tea. Other than that, it's a good story. |
JazzyIrish chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Another fabulous chapter! I felt like I was sitting in that cave listening to the boys as they struggled to stay awake and deal with their pain. Amazing dialogue, just amazing. I especially liked how you show that Dean has a very different view of his father than Sam does and why. Also love the brotherly banter. Loved this exchange: “We can never be this stupid again,” Sam declared. And Dean's reply: “Oh, I’m pretty sure we can. We shouldn’t, but we can." I'm really enjoying this - can't wait for the next chapter. |
MommaB chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Great story - I love your writing! Looking forward to the next chapter! |
Thru Terry's Eyes chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Bravo. (Sound of applause) |
Whisper17 chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Awesome! I love your stories. Update soon? |
Freyja529 chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Loved the "we do what we do" rule flashback... when John mentions the possibility of the boys being separated and Sam looks over at Dean... guh. You've done a great job of weaving together the history we're all familiar with and your own version of events in a very believable way. And the protection charm was an interesting twist. (Anasazi - Bless you...LOL!)Can't wait to see what the forest trek holds for our boys! |
purehalo chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Great chapter, you are really building the tension! It's such a good read! You write the brothers so well Please update soon |
friendly chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 this story is awesome... I love it... |
Onari chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Oh, look! You gave me a goodbye chaper! LOL Let's see... "Suddenly, surprisingly, a hand braced his at the wrist from below. “Aim to its left and close your eyes,” Dean’s voice was low and steady". Aww, he just can't be out of it when Sam needs him, he doesn't have it in him. And I loved the calm way he "takes control", so that Sam can get a grip to, in every sense. Loved how they "fight" to check on the other's injuries too. Humour masking their concern. Winchester's classic. That and anger, of course...:D "And Sam saw in his brother something that, for him, had always been missing from his relationship with John: understanding" I loved the little dialogue where Sam expects Dean to be mad and doesn't get why he isn't, so I decided to point out the conclusion. It's quite interesting how different hunts are when they are by themselves and when they are with their father. John is a great hunter, and both of them seem to feel reassured having him backing them up...but in a way, they are more relaxed when they're on his own, like more at ease, aren't they? They work as partners and don't judge the other, instead of following a captain as soldiers who fear failing. "Who’s your brother, Sam?” It was a familiar question. One that had pulled Sam out of nightmares, out of tantrums, out of anger. One that grounded him when he was lost. “You are, Dean.” “’Nuff said,” Dean nodded..." What can I say to that? I know you're loving it, and you know I'm loving it :D "Dean moved to sit on the other side of Sam, putting Sam between himself and the warmth of the fire; putting himself between Sam and the mouth of the cave." So much said only by where he sits, right? "“We can never be this stupid again,” Sam declared. “Oh, I’m pretty sure we can. We shouldn’t, but we can,” " LOL "“I guess I didn’t really, uh… y’know, feel like talking for awhile.”" ¡Qué mono! Ahem...sorry, I mean, poor thingy, that little sentence was so sweet, the struggle with the words and all. "I guess I started the same thing when I felt… out of control somehow", I can imagine him doing that, absolutely. He doesn't do well when he's not in control. That's a huge pressure to live under. Ok...I guess this is it. Oh, by the way, I started downloading the song Ramble On, I'll tell you about it when I listen to it! Great episode, as usual ;) Love xx |
SalemsChild chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Really good chapter! I think you nailed their "talk" very well...Sammy with the endless questions, Dean with the exasperated explanations, etc. I'm eager for the next update. |
irishgirl9 chapter 2 . 12/2/2006 Amazing chpater! I loved both flashbacks, but I especially loved John singing to Dean. That was so sweet. Once again another great chapter! I can't wait to read more. |
